Georgia Southern University has been recognized by Forbes as one of "America's Best-In-State Employers" for 2025.LocationStatesboro Campus - Statesboro, GADepartment InformationGeneral Health ServicesJob SummaryWork in collaboration with and under the direct and indirect supervision of a physician, using a mutually approved advanced practice registered nurse protocol agreement, to provide primary healthcare to students and eligible members of University community in accordance with Nurse Practice Act and rules and regulations established by State of Georgia. This position has been identified by Federal Law (Jeanne Clery Act) as a Campus Security Authority (CSA), with significant student and campus responsibilities. CSA 's are obligated to report crimes reported to them which occurred on campus, in public areas bordering campus and in certain non-campus buildings owned or controlled (leased) by the University.This is a 10-month, benefitted position.ResponsibilitiesParticipate in clinical researchAssist with the Health Education staff of Health Services with on-campus health education programming activitiesParticipate in staff meetings and in staff committees, cooperates with peers and others, and maintains competency through continuing education as per Health Services policiesProvide advisory and educational services to the greater communityMaintain confidentiality of all patient recordsObtain complete, detailed and accurate histories; review patient records to develop comprehensive medical status reports; order laboratory, radiological and diagnostic studies appropriate for condition of patientPerform physical examinations and record pertinent data in electronic medical recordParticipate in the education and preceptorship of student learners and new staff membersMaintain professional affiliationsProvide in-service programs for Health Services staff and other University personnelRequired QualificationsEducational RequirementsGraduate of ANA approved Nurse Practitioner training program or equivalent requirements to meet state licensureOther Required QualificationsNational certification through ANCC or NCCGeorgia State RN and NP licenses in good standingCPR certification Active DEA registration and prescribing privileges or eligibleRequired ExperienceOne (1) year of post-graduation experience in Emergency Medicine/Urgent Care or broad based Family Practice within past five yearsPreferred QualificationsAdditional Preferred QualificationsIdeal candidates will possess knowledge of public health principles and practices as related to preventive health maintenance, contraceptive management, and management of acute and chronic gynecological and breast conditions in adolescent and older patientsLicensed as a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner or Family Nurse PractitionerPreferred ExperienceExperience in a clinical setting regularly providing care to patients with contraceptive, gynecological, and breast care needs is preferredIUD and Nexplanon placement and removal experience is preferredProposed SalaryCommensurate with ExperienceThis is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.Required Documents to AttachResumeCover LetterTwo (2) Professional ReferencesKnowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesABILITIESConsistently exhibit engaging customer serviceAbility to support various constituencies served by the UniversityNavigate web access and email with or without reasonable accommodationAbility to maintain confidentiality and secure sensitive informationKNOWLEDGEAdhere to University policies and procedures to meet Institutional goals and support University's mission for student successThorough and working knowledge of all communicable disease and injuries in patients of all ages, and familiarity with less communicable diseases and injuries in patients of all pagesWorking knowledge of state healthcare laws, licensing, board regulations and prescribing regulationsSKILLSProven proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office, Google, and/or applications as required for specific positionEffective communication (verbal and written), organizational and human relations skillsApply Before DateOpen Until FilledApplication review may begin on January 16, 2026.USG Core ValuesThe University System of Georgia is comprised of our 26 institutions of higher education and learning as well as the System Office.
