The Senior Application Support Specialist serves as a senior escalation point, resolves complex cross-system issues, and drives improvements that reduce long-term support demand.The role partners closely with architecture and project teams during design and build efforts to ensure solutions are supportable, maintainable, and aligned with operational needs.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesThe Senior Application Support Specialist – Business Applications will deliver and support the following areas of responsibility:APPLICATION ADMINISTRATION & CONFIGURATIONAdminister and maintain business applications with deeper ownership across system behavior and configuration strategyLead more complex configuration changes and cross-system adjustmentsGuide alignment between systems and evolving business processesMaintain and improve configuration standards and documentationSUPPORT & ESCALATION LEADERSHIPServe as a senior escalation point for complex or high-impact issuesLead investigation of issues spanning multiple systems, teams, and workflowsProvide guidance to other support resources on troubleshooting and resolution approachesEnsure consistent resolution quality and communicationSOP STRATEGY & SUPPORT SCALABILITYDrive prioritization of SOP development based on support trendsEnsure SOPs address root causes, not just symptomsImprove support processes and documentation standardsMentor others in creating effective, usable documentationPROCESS & SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTIdentify systemic issues and drive improvements that reduce long-term support demandEvaluate when configuration, process changes, or system enhancements are requiredRecommend improvements to architecture and workflows through appropriate channelsIdentify and apply automation or AI capabilities where they provide clear operational benefitPROJECT PARTICIPATION & SOLUTION INFLUENCEActively participate in new solution builds and system enhancementsProvide input during design to ensure supportability and operational readinessIdentify risks, gaps, and downstream support implications earlyAssist with complex testing, validation, and rollout activitiesEnsure clean transition from project delivery to operational ownershipEducation & ExperienceMinimum RequirementsBachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent professional experience3+ years of hands-on experience administering, configuring, and building on the Microsoft Power PlatformMicrosoft PL-200 (Power Platform Functional Consultant Associate) certification, or demonstrated equivalent knowledge across the full PL-200 skill set including model-driven apps, canvas apps, Power Automate, Power Pages, Dataverse, Copilot Studio, security, and solution managementHands-on Dataverse experience including data modeling, security roles, business units, permissions, and solution managementExperience with Power Automate including cloud flows, expressions, error handling, and advanced connector usage across SharePoint, Lists, Teams, Outlook, and related Microsoft 365 servicesFamiliarity with application lifecycle management including solution packaging, versioning, and deployment across environmentsDesired ExperienceMicrosoft AI-900 (Azure AI Fundamentals) or AB-900 (Microsoft 365 Copilot and Agent Administration Fundamentals) certificationFamiliarity with Dynamics 365 Customer Service, Sales, Field Service, or Project Operations modulesPrevious software development experienceMicrosoft 365 and Entra administration familiarity, including user, group, and license managementBasic familiarity with API consumption, including REST endpoints, authentication, and JSONFamiliarity with source control and DevOps practices, including Azure DevOps or GitHubSkills & AbilitiesOwnership and follow-through with consistent delivery of work from intake through completionSocial awareness, communication, and relationship-building with the ability to work effectively with internal users, technical peers, architects, leadership, and CompuNet customersPower Platform foundation with hands-on depth in Dataverse, security and permissions, Power Automate, and solution managementAI-first and automation-first mindset that evaluates where AI and automation capabilities deliver better outcomes than traditional application buildsCollaboration with systems architecture, the Dynamics 365 build team, Power BI operations, and reactive support leadershipWritten and verbal communication suitable for business users, technical peers, customers, and leadership audiencesCommitment to ongoing certification across the Microsoft Power Platform and AI ecosystemWho we areCompuNet, Inc. is an engineering-led IT solution provider that offers consulting, design, and professional services.
