Accountant/CPA
Department: AccountingReports to: ControllerJob OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant/CPA to join our finance team. This role is responsible for managing financial reporting, analysis, and compliance while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical capabilities, technical accounting expertise, and solid experience in business tax matters, along with the ability to collaborate effectively in a dynamic environment.Responsibilities and DutiesManage the full accounting cycle, including journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and month-end close. Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, equity roll forwards, and cash flow statements. Review, investigate, and resolve discrepancies in transactional data; analyze and document financial results for assigned cost centers. Perform complex account analyses and prepare detailed balance sheet reconciliations. Record and maintain lease accounting entries, accruals, and allocations. Track fixed assets from acquisition through disposition and calculate monthly depreciation. Support external audit processes, including preparation of schedules and documentation. Apply sound judgment and initiative to address complex accounting issues. Provide support across treasury, tax, accounts receivable, and accounts payable functions as needed. Maintain prepaid schedules and ensure timely expense recognition. Prepare ad hoc financial analyses and reports as needed. Required Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting CPA certification Minimum of five (5) years of full-cycle general ledger experience Strong experience with business tax compliance and reporting (e.g., corporate, partnership, or multi-entity tax) Advanced proficiency (3–5 years) in NetSuite and Microsoft Excel Preferred Skills & QualificationsExperience in the retail industry Strong understanding of inventory accounting Experience with Power BI Experience working in a SOX-compliant environment Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong analytical and documentation abilities Ability to serve as a resource for knowledge transfer, training, and quality review; may lead special projects or initiatives Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization Exceptional attention to detail, with strong problem-solving and independent decision-making skills Excellent organizational, time management, and prioritization abilities; able to meet tight deadlines Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Perform other duties as assigned Additional InformationThis job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, responsibilities, or activities.
