IT Systems Engineer

Piper Companies is seeking an IT Systems Engineer to support and maintain critical technology systems within a regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. This IT Systems Engineer role is ideal for a hands-on technical professional with strong Tier 2 support experience who thrives in an onsite, fast-paced production setting and is passionate about keeping manufacturing operations running smoothly.Responsibilities of the IT Systems Engineer:Provide Tier 2 technical support for end-user devices, manufacturing systems, and site infrastructure in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environmentInstall, configure, troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve issues related to desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and peripheral hardwareSupport Windows-based operating systems, standard enterprise applications, and manufacturing-related systemsPerform onsite technical support five days per week, acting as a primary IT presence for the facilityDocument incidents, resolutions, and procedures in accordance with IT and regulatory standardsCollaborate with engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams to ensure system reliability and minimal downtimeEscalate complex issues to Tier 3 teams as needed and assist with root cause analysisSupport hardware refreshes, system upgrades, and new device deploymentsQualifications of the IT Systems Engineer:4+ years of IT support or systems engineering experience with a strong focus on Tier 2 troubleshootingPrevious experience supporting pharmaceutical, biotech, or other regulated manufacturing environmentsStrong knowledge of Windows OS, Active Directory, and enterprise endpoint supportHands-on experience installing, troubleshooting, and supporting end-user devices and onsite infrastructureAbility to work full-time onsite in Clayton, NC (5 days per week)Strong communication skills with the ability to support both technical and non-technical usersCompensation for the IT Systems Engineer includes:Salary range: $120,000 – $160,000 depending on experienceComprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and PTOThis job opens for applications on 4/16/2026.
