Pediatric Skilled Nursing Facility Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in Watsonville, CA

A full-time Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) opportunity is available for the 2025-2026 school year in Watsonville, CA. This contract position involves working Monday through Friday, directly in-person with students across elementary, middle, and high school levels, including K-12 assignments based on your experience and preferences.Key Responsibilities:Provide consultative and advisory services to school staff regarding speech and language diagnosis and remediation.Conduct screenings and assessments related to speech, language, articulation, and auditory development for students referred for special education.Collaborate as part of a multi-disciplinary team to interpret evaluations and contribute to Individualized Education Program (IEP) planning.Maintain ongoing communication with educators, families, and healthcare agencies to monitor and support student progress.Deliver direct speech and language intervention to students to enhance their communication skills for academic and social success.Support classroom staff in developing appropriate language programs tailored to individual student needs.Minimum Qualifications:Hold an active California SLP license.Demonstrated commitment to working with students with special education needs and their families.Experience or training in assessment, evaluation, and consultation within school settings.Knowledge of the special education process, procedures, and disability categories.Ability to foster positive relationships with staff, students, families, and community partners.Effective communication skills including active listening, two-way communication, and appropriate use of communication channels.Preferred previous experience in school-based speech-language pathology.This role offers the chance to make a tangible impact on students' communication abilities while collaborating within an educational multidisciplinary team.
