About the job Senior Staff Accountant About the Role:This Senior Staff Accountant role focuses on general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and real estate accounting operations. The position supports both corporate accounting and property-level financials, including month-end close, journal entries, and reconciliations. Ideal for professionals with experience in real estate, property management accounting, or multi-entity environments, this role offers exposure to full-cycle accounting, budgeting, and financial analysis.Responsibilities:Maintain and reconcile general ledgers for corporate entities and real estate operating propertiesPrepare and post journal entries, including accruals, amortization, and intercompany transactionsExecute monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across multiple entitiesPrepare financial statements, variance analyses, and supporting schedules for internal and external reportingAssist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning for corporate and property-level operationsReconcile bank accounts, tenant ledgers, and property cash flow activity to ensure accuracySupport accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including expense coding and revenue trackingEnsure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and accounting policiesCollaborate with cross-functional teams including property management and finance to resolve discrepanciesContribute to process improvements, system enhancements, and special accounting projectsQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field3 or more years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate accounting or property management accountingStrong knowledge of general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and financial reportingExperience with accounting software such as Yardi, Sage Timberline, or similar ERP systemsProficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, pivot tables, and financial modeling basicsUnderstanding of month-end close processes, accrual accounting, and intercompany transactionsExcellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple prioritiesStrong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsDesired Qualifications:Experience with real estate financials, property-level reporting, and tenant accountingKnowledge of consolidations, intercompany eliminations, and multi-entity accounting structuresFamiliarity with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis in a real estate environmentCPA or progress toward CPA certificationExperience improving accounting processes, internal controls, or system implementations
