Mechanical Design Engineer

About the job...We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to support the design, development, and production of custom mechanical systems. In this role, you will translate engineering concepts into detailed shop-ready drawings and collaborate across engineering and manufacturing to deliver high‑quality solutions. This position is well‑suited for an experienced mechanical engineer who enjoys hands‑on design work and solving complex technical problems.Key Responsibilities:Create detailed production drawings including assembly drawings, machined components, and weldment assembliesResearch, plan, and design mechanical, electromechanical, and hydraulic systemsApply established engineering, drafting, and design standards to all deliverablesDesign and integrate electric and hydraulic drive systems using sound machine design principlesEnsure drawings and designs meet manufacturing, quality, and performance requirementsCommunicate effectively with engineering, production, and cross‑functional teams through clear written and verbal communicationQualifications:B.S. in Mechanical Engineering required.3–7 years of experience requiredProficiency in SolidWorksStrong knowledge of machine design, weldments, and tolerancesUnderstanding of materials and engineering fundamentalsAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlinesNice to HaveHydraulic power unit design experienceERP experience (NetSuite preferred)Manufacturing or custom equipment background
