Sr Embedded Systems Engineer - EE/HW Power Characterization

Our work is powered by advanced in-house labs and deep expertise in hardware, software, and AI.We are seeking a Senior Embedded Systems Engineer with a strong background in electrical engineering, power characterization, embedded firmware, and system-level debugging. This role focuses on analyzing and optimizing power and performance in complex embedded platforms through hands-on lab investigation, electrical measurements, and cross-functional collaboration.This is a hardware-centric position that combines electrical engineering expertise with embedded software and firmware knowledge. The ideal candidate is comfortable working across schematics, power delivery systems, lab instrumentation, firmware, and operating system logs to diagnose and resolve real-world power and performance challenges.Key ResponsibilitiesPower Measurement & Hardware DebugLead hands-on power measurement, characterization, and debugging activities using oscilloscopes, power analyzers, electronic loads, and related lab equipment.Analyze current, voltage, power rails, transient behavior, and system-level power consumption.Review schematics to understand power architecture, sequencing, and power distribution.Develop and execute test plans covering operating modes, workloads, power states, and environmental conditions.Investigate unexpected power consumption, instability, thermal issues, and peak-power events through structured root-cause analysis.Embedded Firmware & System Software AnalysisInvestigate firmware and software contributors to power and performance behavior.Analyze power management across embedded firmware, low-level drivers, and operating system layers.Interpret logs, traces, and system states to identify root causes of power-related issues.Understand CPU power states, suspend/resume behavior, and firmware-controlled power features.Collaborate with firmware and platform teams to align hardware power design and software implementation.Power Modeling & Performance AnalysisInterpret and validate system-level power models and power budgets.Compare measured results against expected performance and identify discrepancies.Communicate technical findings and recommendations to engineering stakeholders.Cross-Functional CollaborationServe as a bridge between electrical, hardware, firmware, validation, and software teams.Support platform bring-up, characterization, and product investigations.Contribute to improvements in power efficiency, testability, and system reliability.Required QualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field.7+ years of experience in embedded systems, electrical engineering, or system-level product development.Strong experience with electrical test and debug, including:Schematic analysisPower rail characterizationInstrument-based measurements and troubleshootingExperience with embedded firmware development, including microcontrollers, SoCs, bootloaders, or low-level drivers.Working knowledge of Linux and/or Android systems for debugging and performance analysis.Ability to develop test plans, define test matrices, and independently drive investigations.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work through ambiguous technical challenges.Preferred QualificationsExperience with Qualcomm and/or complex SoC-based embedded platforms.Familiarity with system-level power measurement and characterization methodologies.Experience validating power models and power budgets.Knowledge of power and thermal management frameworks.Experience with EVT, DVT, manufacturing validation, or lab-based product characterization.Exposure to RTOS or bare-metal embedded development environments.Desired SkillsPower delivery and power integrity analysisEmbedded firmware and low-level software debuggingSystem characterization and validationLab instrumentation and electrical measurementsCross-functional collaboration and technical communicationRoot-cause analysis and data-driven troubleshootingBenefitsCompetitive base salary and overall compensation packageFull benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision401 (K) with generous company matchGenerous Paid time off (PTO)Vacation, sick, and paid holidaysLife Insurance coverageOpportunity to work on cutting-edge technology projects  Email Your Resume In Word ToCaroline.Veillon@CyberCoders.comLooking forward to receiving your resume through our website and going over the position with you.
