The Associate Director of Wellness Programs reports to the Assistant Vice President of Student Life for Engagement and Wellbeing and shares in other departmental responsibilities on a collegial basis.The Associate Director will work to integrate and support Earlham’s eight dimensions of wellness, and will support and facilitate the work of others across campus that contribute to the program (including campus ministry, health services, counseling services, and academic departments such as biology and psychology).Primary Duties & ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the overall planning, direction, and facilitation of the Recreational Sports program, including year-round season/sport planning, league development, training, and facility/space schedulingResponsible for the overall organization, supervision, and evaluation of the Club Sports program, including EsportsAdminister fitness/wellness programming, including educational clinics, workshops, and trainingsCreate marketing materials, including website updatesSupport department health promotion efforts through education, program facilitation, and materialsCoordinate area-specific assessment efforts, reports, participation data development, and analysis; formulate, recommend, approve, and implement policies, procedures, controls, and manage processes to advance service levels and improve efficienciesAssist in various department responsibilities related to emergency action plan preparation and execution, safety/risk management, marketing, student development, and special eventsFacilitate ongoing, comprehensive training and development of staffDevelop and maintain community partnerships in the Richmond and Wayne County areaWork collaboratively with the Director of Athletics and the Athletics staff, as neededServe on various campus, division, and departmental committees and represent the department among various state and national associationsServe on the campus administrator on call rotationQualificationsA bachelor’s degree in wellness, exercise science/kinesiology, or related field is requiredTwo years of supervisory and program management experience is preferredGroup fitness instructor certification, personal training, or similar or willingness to obtain certificationAmerican Red Cross CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certificationEnthusiastic and dynamic personalityConvincing advocate for WellnessAn excellent instructor and presenterExcellent written and verbal communication skillsKnowledge of and/or experience in liberal arts educational institutionsBenefits Working At EarlhamMedical, Dental, and Vision Insurance*Company paid Long-Term Disability after 1 year of full-time service*Basic and Voluntary Life insurance*Employee Assistance Program*Campus Store DiscountFree ticket vouchers for Richmond Symphony OrchestraWellness Center Free Membership or Discount for eligible employeesAthletic Games-Free entry to all home gamesFree entry into most Theatre/Music showsTuition Benefits for Immediate Family for eligible employees*403(b) Retirement* – For eligible employees, Earlham will contribute a non-elective contribution equal to 5% of gross pay after 2 years of service.
