Full-Time Cafe Market Associate

Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens is hiring a Cafe Market Associate!Are you experienced in customer service and cash handling, excited about inspiring meaningful connections among people and nature in one of the most beautiful settings in Maine, and committed to supporting the Gardens' Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility goals?The Cafe Market Associate supports the mission of the Gardens by using local and seasonal ingredients and products to connect our guests to the natural world around them. Team members working in the Culinary department will provide excellent customer service to all visitors, members, employees, and volunteers while also managing a register with the Toast POS system. Team members will also focus on restocking throughout the day, serving coffee, alcohol and ringing in items from the marketplace.This is a Seasonal, Full-time position (30-40 hours per week). Regular season open hours are 9:00 am - 5:00 pm May-October. Gardens Aglow open hours are 4:00 - 9:00 pm November-December. Weekend hours are regularly required. Evenings required during Gardens Aglow.$22.00 - 25.00 hourly (base rate: $17.00/hour + tip pool), non-exemptSeasonal employees receive personal and sick paid time off, paid holidays, discounts in our culinary programs and Gardenshop, and a Gardens membership.Application review will begin March 30, 2026Primary Functions:Operate the POS system accurately and efficientlyGreet and provide excellent customer service to all visitors, members, employees, and volunteers who visit the CafeRestock merchandise promptly throughout the dayKeep the Market and Hot Line clean and tidy each day; maintain organization at the register and in storage areasPhysical Requirements:Ability to stand for 8 or more hours each dayBending, stooping, and reaching (occasionally over your head)Ability to use a stepstoolAbility to lift/carry up to 50lbsRequirementsPrevious experience using Toast POS or a similar systemExcellent customer service skills with a friendly, positive attitudeAble to work efficiently in a fast-paced environmentTeamwork orientation that supports and uplifts the work environment
