School Counselor

Description The School District of Amery is now hiring a School Counselor to work with students in grades 4K-2 at Lien Elementary School. DPI licensure as a school counselor is required for this position. School Counselor expectations:Assist students with academic, emotional, social or behavioral developmentPromote achievement, attendance, social/emotional/behavior skills, and school safetyUse school data to guide student programmingAddress policies and practices that implement PBIS, TSS, and restorative practices within the buildingSupport academic, career, and/or personal/social developmentConsult with parents/guardians, teachers, support staff, administration and any local agencies which might be of assistance to the studentsProvide parents/guardians with accurate, comprehensive and relevant information in an objective and caring mannerWork with staff to guide and understand the needs of all students, their development and the impact on learning, which may include staff developmentAssist and guide students in understanding the school environment and their expectationsFacilitate and utilize conflict resolution skills and restorative practicesAnalyze, develop, implement, and track student intervention plans (academic & behavior)Organize and analyze EduClimber behavioral data for implementation of PBISCollaborate with the student success teamProviding support to students during times of dysregulation and advocate for student's needs and programingProvide whole group, small group, or individual counseling services to students, teach classroom lessons, and collaborate with building staff to meet the needs of all students Qualified candidates should submit a complete application on WECAN including a cover letter, resume, transcripts, and letters of recommendation. The School District of Amery is a public PK-12 district of approximately 1,200 students in four buildings on one campus. Amery is one of the highest achieving districts in western Wisconsin.
