Keytronic, Oakdale, MN facility is seeking a SMT Operator who performs the function of operating the surface mount assembly equipment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.) Uses either a manual, semi-automatic or automatic solder paste stencil machine. Loading components into magazines and on to Mydata pick and place machine. Loading proper programs for SMT, SPI, Oven, and AOI. Performing quality inspections at each stage to ensure product is built per customer specification and industry standards. Save management data to the network for tenant. Communicate with AOI personnel to identify and resolve assembly issues. Perform light and routine maintenance tasks. SUPERVISION GIVEN/RECEIVED Is supervised by the Director of Operations and Production Supervisor and has no direct supervisory responsibilities. PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk up and down the line; stand/walk for 8 hours; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or reach with hands and arms. The environment is fast-paced, time pressured, and requires accuracy. The employee will regularly multi-task between projects, be required to move throughout the office building and production floor. Effectively communicate orally and written. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is exposed to fumes or airborne particles. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS A high school education or equivalent along with at least 1 year of relevant experience. Successful completion of level appropriate operator test. Understand first article process. Successful completion of ESD safety training, MSD training, and IPC-A-610 certification. Must exhibit knowledge and/or skill in operating equipment and hand tools used in the area Must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team environment Ability to recognize problems in the operation process or with components and to highlight/communicate those problems to Team Leader. Good vision, hand coordination and manual dexterity are required. Ability to read, write and otherwise communicate effectively in English. Must be able to read and understand work routers, bill of materials, assembly drawings, component identification, and component polarity. Basic PC Knowledge. Must be able to stand/walk 80% of the time at work.
