Job description:Clinical Research Nurse (CRN) – Per DiemLocation: New Haven, CTSchedule: Per Diem | Evening and Overnight Coverage NeededStart Date: ASAPOverviewThe Clinical Research Nurse (CRN) – Per Diem will provide nursing support for clinical research studies across multiple disease states. This position supports research participant visits, medication administration, assessments, and study procedures while ensuring all activities are completed according to research protocols.This opportunity is ideal for an experienced nurse seeking flexible shifts while contributing to innovative clinical research. Prior research experience is not required, but candidates should have an interest in investigational medicine and protocol-driven patient care.Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Research SupportProvide direct nursing care during clinical research visits.Support study participants throughout the research process.Perform research-related nursing procedures, including:PhlebotomyMedication administrationStudy dosing visitsParticipant assessmentsFollow study-specific protocols, SOPs, and investigational requirements.Partner with clinical research teams to ensure participant safety and accurate study execution.Patient Population & Research AreasSupport studies across multiple therapeutic areas.Work with adult and pediatric participants.Assist with pediatric research procedures including:Medication dosingBlood drawsParticipant monitoringQualificationsRequiredBachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)Active Connecticut RN LicenseMinimum of 5 years of nursing experienceAcute care nursing experience, such as:Medical-Surgical NursingICUEmergency DepartmentInpatient NursingInfusion NursingOther specialty nursing environmentsPreferredPediatric nursing experiencePrevious exposure or interest in clinical researchStrong ability to follow detailed protocolsFlexible and adaptable approach to schedulingExcellent teamwork and communication skillsSchedule ExpectationsMinimum expectation of at least one shift per weekEstimated 4–14 shifts per month depending on study needsSome overnight research visits requiredTwo weeks each month may require overnight coveragePrimary shift needs:Evenings: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PMNights: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AMIdeal CandidateThe ideal candidate is a reliable, adaptable nurse who enjoys working collaboratively and is interested in supporting clinical research studies in a protocol-driven environment.Work Location: In person
