ResponsibilitiesKforce has a client in Silver Spring, MD that is seeking an Interim Payroll Manager. Responsibilities: Manage end-to-end payroll processing for salaried, hourly, and contract employees Ensure payroll is processed accurately, timely, and in compliance with applicable laws and company policies Maintain payroll records, reports, and documentation with a high degree of confidentiality Oversee payroll tax filings, garnishments, benefits deductions, and wage calculations Reconcile payroll accounts and coordinate with Finance and HR teams on reporting and audits Monitor compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and payroll regulations Manage payroll systems, upgrades, integrations, and vendor relationships Lead payroll audits and support internal/external audit requests Develop and improve payroll procedures, controls, and efficiencies Supervise and mentor payroll staff, if applicable Resolve employee payroll discrepancies and inquiries professionally and promptly Prepare payroll-related reports for leadership and regulatory agenciesRequirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field preferred 5+ years of payroll experience, including leadership or management responsibilities Strong understanding of payroll laws, taxes, wage and hour regulations, and compliance requirementsThe pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law.
