Electrical or Mechanical Engineer:About Us: Iron Energy designs, engineers, installs, and performs O&M on renewable energy power plants across the country. We are committed to making those power plants reliable and accessible to the communities and businesses in those cities. We are looking for an independent, highly skilled, and self motivated Engineer to join our team.Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Electrical or Mechanical Engineer who is preferably NABCEP certified and proficient in using AutoCAD. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, planning, engineering solar power systems, and integrated battery energy storage solutions, while ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations. You will work closely with project managers, installers, and permitting specialists to deliver high-quality renewable energy power plants.Key Responsibilities:Ensure solar designs meet the requirements of local building codes, zoning laws, and the National Electrical Code (NEC).Perform system sizing, including production modeling and optimization for performance.Review and approve solar system plans and provide technical support during the installation process.Ensure all designs and installations adhere to safety protocols and regulations.Document system designs, drawings, and calculations for permit applications and project records.Maintain relationships with clients via email and phone calls, and manage travel reservations responsibly, demonstrating professionalism in airports, hotels, and the use of rental cars.Survey sites for feasibility of commercial solar plant installation, including reviewing blueprints, analyzing existing switchgear, and checking land for wetland delineations, ground stability (geo tech studies), and flood water analysis.Calculate and design the solar system, including modeling in PVSyst, performing electrical and mechanical calculations, and drawing prints in AutoCAD. Study different technologies and achieve creative solutions to problems on site.Qualifications:NABCEP Certification (National Board of Certified Energy Practitioners) is preferred. Training can be provided for the right candidateProficiency in AutoCAD is required. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.Strong understanding of electrical principles and the National Electrical Code (NEC) is preferred.Familiarity with solar PV components, including inverters, panels, batteries, and balance of system (BOS) equipment is preferred.Must be a self-starter with strong time management skills.The job requires travel.Please submit your CV, cover letter, and portfolio with any relevant certifications to Seana@Iron.Energy
