Senior DevOps EngineerLocation: Rocklin, CA 4 days onsite per week (Monday to Thursday onsite, and Friday WFH) Duration: 4 Month Contract with possible extension Work Auth: USC/ GC/ H4EADProject description: Seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to support a cloud implementation initiative (4 months). This role requires a mature DevOps professional with strong architectural judgment and hands on expertise in Terraform, Jenkins CI/CD pipelines, artifact management, and Python-based automation.Duties/Day to Day OverviewDesign, build, and maintain Terraform modules from the ground up, including integrations with third party providersArchitect and support CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, including:Scripted pipelinesPipeline troubleshooting and optimizationDefining best practices for pipeline structure and promotion workflowsManage artifact versioning, promotion, and environment merges across SDLC stages (e.g., dev → test → staging → production)Implement and maintain secure artifact handling, including promotion, authentication, and access controlsDevelop and maintain Python-based automation, including:API integrations with third party systemsAutomation of daily operational and release tasksPackage and deploy automation solutions using DockerPublish and manage artifacts in Artifactory, including handling third party authentication mechanismsSupport release promotion workflows, ensuring consistency, traceability, and securityCollaborate with internal teams and multiple external vendors to align CI/CD and infrastructure standardsProvide guidance on DevOps architecture decisions, including what belongs in pipelines and how environments should be managedSupport SQL Server–related operational and security considerations as part of release and deployment workflowsApply working knowledge of Kubernetes to support deployments (no cluster setup or administration required)Top Requirements (Must haves)8+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer, Platform Engineer, or Senior Software EngineerStrong hands on experience with Terraform, including:Designing reusable modulesBuilding infrastructure as code from scratchIntegrating with third party providersAdvanced experience with Jenkins, including:Scripted pipelinesCI/CD pipeline architecture and troubleshootingDeep understanding of:Artifact versioning strategiesPromotion and merge workflowsSDLC environment progressionProficiency in Python, including:Writing automation scriptsBuilding API integrationsSupporting deployment workflowsExperience containerizing applications and automation using DockerFamiliarity with artifact repositories (e.g., Artifactory) and secure publishing practicesExperience handling authentication and security considerations within CI/CD and deployment pipelinesWorking knowledge of Kubernetes concepts and deployment patternsStrong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a multi vendor, enterprise environment
