Role OverviewThe Front Desk Manager plays a key leadership role within the Front Office, helping to elevate and professionalize the guest arrival and departure experience. This individual serves as a highly visible presence on property, setting the tone for hospitality, service standards, and team collaboration. This role offers a dynamic environment-ranging from tranquil midweek stays to high-energy weekends, weddings, and corporate retreats. The Front Desk Manager will serve as Manager on Duty during assigned shifts, supporting daily operations while ensuring consistency, responsiveness, and a seamless guest journey. Success in this position requires a strong foundation in hospitality, a passion for service, and the ability to adapt to an ever-changing pace. Key ResponsibilitiesLead and support daily Front Desk operations, ensuring a welcoming and efficient guest experienceServe as Manager on Duty, providing leadership across the property during assigned shiftsRespond to guest needs, concerns, and operational challenges with professionalism and sound judgmentCollaborate closely with Housekeeping, Reservations, and other departments to manage daily flowMaintain a visible presence in the lobby and front office areas, especially during peak periodsCoach and support Front Desk team members to uphold service standards and enhance performanceCommunicate daily priorities, VIP arrivals, group activities, and operational updates effectivelyEnsure compliance with all policies, procedures, and safety protocolsMaintain deep knowledge of resort offerings, local attractions, and seasonal activitiesStep in as needed to support front-line operations and ensure exceptional service delivery QualificationsMinimum of 5 years of experience in hospitality, preferably within a hotel or resort environmentStrong service orientation with a passion for creating memorable guest experiencesLeadership experience is valued, though emphasis is placed on service excellence over formal supervisionAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environmentStrong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skillsFamiliarity with property management systems (or ability to quickly learn)Knowledge of the local area or willingness to become well-versed in regional attractionsFlexibility to work a varied schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays Compensation & BenefitsCompetitive salary range of $55,000 - $72,000 annuallyDiscretionary bonus potentialPossible temporary housing supportComprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision (eligibility after waiting period)Employer-paid life insurance, short-term disability, and long-term disability401(k) with employer match after eligibility periodResort privileges, employee discounts, and complimentary meals Why This RoleThis is an opportunity to join a premier Vermont destination at a pivotal time of growth and investment in service excellence.
