It is essential that you align with these values to be part of our team.Position Summary The Banquet Captain is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing banquet events and ensuring exceptional guest service from set-up through event completion. This position leads banquet staff during events, coordinates service execution, and ensures all details align with client expectations and resort standards.This role requires strong leadership, organization, and a hands-on approach to delivering seamless, high-quality events.Key Responsibilities Lead banquet team during events, ensuring smooth execution of all food and beverage servicePromote and model the VIVAMEE Virtues in all interactions with guests and team membersReview banquet event orders (BEOs) and communicate expectations to staffOversee event setup, including linens, tables, décor, service stations, and equipmentAssign roles and responsibilities to banquet servers and support staffEnsure proper timing of service (cocktail hour, courses, transitions, etc.)Act as the primary point of contact during events for service-related needsMonitor guest satisfaction and proactively resolve service issuesCoordinate with culinary, sales, and operations teams to ensure event successMaintain cleanliness, organization, and safety standards throughout eventsOversee breakdown and ensure completion of all post-event side workEnsure team adherence to uniform and presentation standardsQualifications 2+ years of banquet, restaurant, or hospitality service experience requiredPrior leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferredStrong communication, leadership, and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced event environmentProfessional appearance and guest-focused mindsetFlexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event schedulesRequirements Must be at least 18 years of ageHigh School diploma or equivalent preferredAbility to stand for extended periods, lift up to 30 lbs, and work in a physically active environmentCompensation & Benefits $28.00 per hour (non-exempt, overtime eligible)Health benefits for full-time team members (if applicable)Paid time off (if eligible)Employee discounts on dining and merchandiseFree golfOpportunities for career growth within Vivamee HospitalityWhy Join Kent Island Resort?
