CooperDouglas is partnering with a well-known homebuilder and construction company focused on multifamily and affordable housing to find their Controller. This person will lead the financial function across a multi-project portfolio, overseeing all accounting, project finance, and reporting while partnering with executive leadership to support strategic growth.RESPONSIBILITIESLead accounting operations, financial reporting, and month-end closeOwn monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statementsOversee project budgets, job costing, commitments, change orders, and cost forecastingMonitor project financial performance and drive corrective action on variancesManage subcontractor billings, pay applications, retainage, and complianceCoordinate construction loan draws, lender interaction, and project cash flowDeliver monthly profitability and working capital reporting, plus WIP analysis, to leadershipStrengthen financial systems, GAAP policies, internal controls, and reporting processesProvide corporate accounting leadership and manage the accounting teamServe as a strategic partner to executive leadershipQUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)12 to 20 years of accounting/finance experience with significant construction exposure, including 5+ years in a Controller, Director of Finance, or equivalent leadership roleHeavy expertise in Yardi and Procore (required)Strong command of job costing, percentage-of-completion accounting, and project controlsMulti-project financial management experienceTeam management experienceAdvanced proficiency in construction project management and ERP/accounting systemsPREFERREDMultifamily or affordable housing experience, including LIHTC or public financingHistory of implementing or scaling financial systemsCOMPENSATION180,000 to $250,000 + Bonus
