Medical Aircraft Transport Medic

Founded in 1963, Wings of Hope's intent is to bring hope to people where the utilization of aviation is vital for these humanitarian endeavors.We work on a global scale to help vulnerable communities access the basic resources essential for human dignity. At our St. Louis headquarters, the Medical Relief & Air Transport (MAT) Program provides medical air transport services, free of charge, to individuals who need specialized medical care that is not available to them locally.We also provide middle and high school students with project-based learning, connections to STEM curriculum, through our SOAR into STEM four-week, hands-on program.Wings of Hope volunteer hours are generally 8 30 a.m.to 4 30 a.m., Monday through Friday.As part of our commitment to ensuring a safe and secure environment, Wings of Hope requires all volunteers to undergo a background check before placement. By submitting your application, you acknowledge and consent to a background screening, which may include criminal history, sex offender registry, and other relevant checks, as permitted by law. Wings of Hope will conduct background checks in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws. A criminal record does not automatically disqualify an applicant; decisions are made by Wings of Hope on a case-by-case basis.,Seeking Medic volunteer to provide care to patients flying in the Medical Relief & Air Transport Program at Wings of Hope onsite at Spirit of St. Louis Airport (KSUS) in Chesterfield, MO.The JobAccompany patients receiving medical transport.Provide comfort care during flight.Document administered care.Organize equipment and re-order supplies post-flight.Attend "in-service" training (yearly).Communicate with flight crew regarding patient welfare in flight.Fly approximately 1-2 flights per month.The QualificationsBe a registered nurse or physician with current Missouri license and CPR certification.Have interest in flying in a small aircraft, training will be provided during orientation.Be able to bend, stoop and lift at least 20 pounds.The RewardsBe part of our mission using aviation to change and save lives, and see your work making a positive impact on people’s lives.Experience the camaraderie of being a member of the Wings of Hope family, a dedicated group of individuals committed to serving others, supporting each other and having fun along the way!
