As the first dedicated hire in this function, you will have the mandate to define the strategy, select the tooling, and build the culture of cost accountability across our engineering organization.You will act as the bridge between Finance, Engineering, and Procurement, translating complex AWS & Azure data into actionable business value. You won’t just “report” on costs; you will drive architectural efficiency and empower our engineers to make cost-aware decisions. This is a high-impact, founding role for someone who wants to write the playbook rather than just follow it.ResponsibilitiesDevelop forecasting models and financial reporting for cloud spend.Design and manage commitment strategies such as Reserved Instances and Savings Plans.Lead cross-functional optimization initiatives with engineering teams.Establish tagging standards and cost allocation frameworks.Develop executive dashboards and reporting on cloud cost trends and risks.Support vendor negotiations and long-term infrastructure planning.Experience And Knowledge12+ years of experience in FP&A, financial analysis, FinOps, or infrastructure cost analysis.Proven track record in establishing and maturing a FinOps practice, implementing governance, cost-allocation models, show back/chargeback, and optimization programsDeep knowledge of public-cloud pricing and billing models (AWS, Azure) and demonstrate success in optimizing committed spend, reserved instances, and savings plansDemonstrated ability to partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Finance, Procurement, and Product Management to align financial outcomes with technical prioritiesProven ability to lead automation and tooling initiatives that increase cost visibility, tagging accuracy, and real-time spend governanceExperience in high-growth SaaS or multi-tenant environments with measurable improvements in cost efficiency and financial predictabilityExperience developing and presenting executive-level reporting and insights to senior leadership and boards, including trend analysis, variance, and risk projectionsStrong written and verbal communication skillsStrong financial modeling and forecasting capabilities, connecting cloud spend to unit economics and business metricsSolid understanding of FP&A, forecasting, and variance analysisFamiliarity with infrastructure, automation, and cloud architecture as they relate to performance and costDemonstrated operational discipline in building scalable processesAwareness of emerging cloud financial technologies, such as AI-driven anomaly detection, predictive spend models, and sustainability metricsStrategic thinker with a collaborative approach and strong influence across teamsThis position requires fluent written and oral communication in English.
