What the Application Engineer does:
Support the technical execution of projects, from design to commissioning;
Define equipment specifications and parameters according to customer requirements;
Define system configurations, review component sizing, perform calculations, and develop technical solutions;
Ensure the integration of various systems within the project scope;
Adapt design concepts to the project in progress and participate in product development when necessary;
Support all stakeholders involved before and after the design process (Projects, Drafting, Manufacturing, Installation, and Commissioning).
The Application Engineer collaborates with:
Members of the Engineering team
Product Line Managers
Project Directors
Drafting team
Manufacturing
Installation and Commissioning teams
Travel requirements:
Travel to various sites across North America
Number/Frequency of trips: 3–5 per year
Duration of trips: 10–12 days
Main tasks while traveling:
Take measurements on existing equipment requiring modification;
Provide engineering support during equipment start-ups;
Participate in meetings with clients.
Required qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering;
Advanced knowledge and use of spoken and written English (essential);
Strong verbal and written communication skills;
Autonomy, methodical and rigorous approach, customer satisfaction mindset;
Ability to work in a team and under pressure;
Strong technical, interpersonal, and negotiation problem-solving skills;
Project management skills with proven experience;
Knowledge of the sawmill industry is a major asset;
Stress tolerance and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
