Mental Health Counselor

Rise & Thrive Counseling is a flourishing, holistic-based private group practice in a great location of the Triangle that’s rebuilding with a W2 pay structure in 2026. We are passionate about promoting mental health and incorporating all of the aspects of a person as a whole, integrating their lifestyle and overall wellness with a holistic, nervous system approach. We believe in our mind-body connections and that we can use this to our advantage to unlock the potential we all have to do more than just survive in our day to day. Serving primarily adults and older teens in the Raleigh Durham area, we offer in person option and telehealth services to all of NC.Available Positionsfull time hybrid (part in-office, part online) therapist with at least two in-office days.Part time hybrid (part in-office, part online) therapist with at least one in-office day* A full caseload for these positions is when a therapist is averaging at least 20 clinical hours per week, if full-time, and 10 clinical hours per week, if part-time.About the Position This is an employee, hybrid role for a Mental Health Counselor at Rise and Thrive Counseling, PLLC. The counselor will be responsible for:Providing individual psychotherapy and counseling services for adults and/or older teens within your scope of practice under a holistic lensMaintain ethical standards in accordance with board licensureEnsure compliance with HIPAA regulations.Flexibility to conduct a minimum of in office, face-to-face, appointments with clients 50% of your available scheduling time in the office located in Raleigh, NC and 50% by virtual tele-health.Managing relationships to establish yourself in the community important to client and practice progress.Attend peer consultation groups as directed (minimum bi-monthly to monthly) when offeredTherapy focused model with minimal administrative work Timely documentation of appointments in EHR Keep client files accurate and up to date.Be respectful of and cooperative and collaborative with co-workers.Ideally someone who can be available one to two evenings (until 7pm) per week or one weekend day would take preference for scheduling needsOther duties may be assigned.QualificationsA requirement for joining Rise & Thrive is experience with and a passion for the mind-body connection and taking an approach that the individual is more than just their diagnosis code. Knowledge and skill in the provisions of one or more of the “third wave” cognitive behavioral therapies (e.g., Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, etc.), Reality Therapy, EMDR, Polyvagal Theory, Somatic Experiencing, as well as Energy Work & overall Functional Wellness are a must. Those who may be a good fit and qualified for a position at Rise & Thrive include:Current State of NC Fully licensed mental health professionals (e.g., LCMHC, LCSW, LMFT) & Provisional Licensed LCMHC-A with strong knowledge in note completion and handling crisis work if it should arise as necessaryAbility to complete treatment planning and low end case management skillsAbility to work autonomously and within a teamLicensed mental health professionals who are currently credentialed with Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO & Aetna network or those willing to be credentialedTherapeutic niche or interest in developing a specialty (ex: maternal mental health, trauma therapy, women’s wellness, OCD treatment, psychotherapeutic reiki, couples therapy, etc)Commitment to anti-racism and anti-oppression in clinical and personal practiceHIGHLY QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL:Have training in treating attachment trauma, PTSD, anxiety, perfectionism, and people-pleasing, struggles in parenting with generational trauma, or interests in serving clients in this populationTrained in a at least one mind-body psychotherapy (i.e., Somatic Experiencing Therapy, mindfulness-based CBTs, Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction, EMDR, somatic IFS), Polyvagal informed or open to engaging in these training models.BenefitsBenefits currently being offered with W2 employment will include: Competitive hourly wage for the Triangle area of North Carolina for direct clinical hoursW2 employee status with ability to make your own flexible schedule, including holidays and observed daysEmployer paid 10 days Paid Time OffEmployer Paid Birthday LeaveEmployer paid Annual Expense Reimbursement for continuing education, and EMDR Basic Training Reimbursement (Or other third wave therapy training specified by the practice) with a time commitment to the practice Workers’ Compensation Insurance Done-for-you contracting/credentialing with insurance companiesSupport staff to take care of verifying insurance benefits and billing insurance companies ... so that you can show up for your clients, write your notes, and be done!Scheduling and documentation softwareThe support of access to networking events, client referrals, website advertising, EHR management system, and virtual support within the practiceWeekly or biweekly licensure supervision for associatesOption of Bimonthly to monthly peer consultation with option for increase frequency as scheduling allowsPlease note that we do not currently have an option for health insurance BUT we hope to offer a policy or a monthly stipend as the group grows.PayBase Pay + Variable Wage : $50-$60/clinical hr dependent upon licensure status and time invested in the practice. $20/administrative hour Some ConsiderationsWe understand that many clinicians aspire to open their own private practice. However, at this time, we are seeking therapists who are interested in a longer-term commitment with our group. To support continuity of care and foster a strong, collaborative community, we ask team members to commit to at least two years with the practice.Group practices tend to be a great fit for clinicians who value a collaborative, community-oriented environment and prefer the added structure and support that a group setting provides. This includes administrative, legal, marketing, billing, and insurance-related services, allowing therapists to focus more fully on clinical work while sharing a portion of reimbursement to support these essential operations.
