Production Planner

DC Fabricators is seeking a talented Production Planner to join our team. This is an on-site position reporting to our manufacturing facility in Florence, NJ.At DCF, you’ll be part of a skilled team that delivers high-quality, made-to-spec components where precision, reliability, and customer focus matter. Whether you’re driving results in the office or making them happen on the shop floor, you’ll collaborate across departments to solve problems, support efficient operations, and help ensure every component is completed safely, accurately, and with precision!Essential Duties Of The Production Planner Track the progress of manufactured products throughout the shop to ensure alignment with production schedules. Coordinate with all departments to ensure materials, parts, and services are delivered on time and in support of production requirements. Resolve shop workstation loading conflicts and coordinate movement of materials, parts, and tooling as needed. Coordinate movement of parts and materials into and out of storage locations. Work closely with production supervisors and manufacturing engineers regarding material availability, special handling, and schedule changes. Anticipate potential production delays and take proactive steps to mitigate risks. Expedite materials, parts, and tooling to maintain production schedules. Review travelers for completeness and identify any open or missing operations. Review bills of material (BOM) and determine material availability or purchasing requirements. Assist in make-or-buy decisions to support production efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Distribute and maintain controlled shop documents including drawings and procedures. Perform ERP transactions such as issuing parts to jobs, updating job status, and closing jobs. Communicate production priorities to support manpower planning and allocation.Education & Skills Requirements Associate degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field required; equivalent experience may be considered. Completion of an apprenticeship program is a plus. Zero (0) to two (2) years of experience in a manufacturing environment required; four (4) to six (6) years preferred. Knowledge of manufacturing processes and production control systems preferred. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve production control issues. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work with minimal supervision on complex assignments. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
