How effectively we use data and technology directly impacts how quickly people get home.The RoleThe Sr. Financial Budget Analyst is a core member of Anthos|Home's Finance and Administration team, reporting to the Director of Finance and Administration. This role is responsible for the full spectrum of financial operations that support our housing assistance programs — from financial reporting and payment tracking to budget preparation and audit support.This position requires exceptional attention to detail, comfort with high-volume financial data, and the ability to collaborate across teams and with external stakeholders including landlords and city agencies. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in financial analysis or accounting, is highly proficient in Excel, and thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment where accuracy directly enables people to find stable homes.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting + AnalysisPrepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reportsAnalyze trends in disbursements, landlord payments, and program utilization to support decision-makingInvestigate discrepancies in payments, balances, or reporting and provide clear resolution paths Payment Tracking + ReconciliationCreate and maintain detailed financial check registries to track disbursements and payment statusMonitor and reconcile payments to vendors, including check tracking, invoice matching, and issue resolutionCreate, review, and reconcile invoices to ensure accuracy and alignment with program fundingSupport accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate transactionsBudgeting + Financial PlanningPrepare and assist in preparing the forecast and budget for the organization and its programsAssist in developing and improving financial processes, controls, and reporting toolsCross-Functional + Stakeholder CoordinationPartner with program operations to track participant-related financial activity and ensure alignment with funding guidelinesSupport audits by maintaining organized financial records and responding to documentation requestsCoordinate with external stakeholders (e.g., landlords, agencies, DHS) on financial matters as neededOther financial-based responsibilities as the organization evolvesQualificationsBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field3–5 years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, or a similar roleHands-on experience across core accounting functions, including journal entries and general ledger maintenance, financial reporting and reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, and invoice creation and reconciliationStrong proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)Excellent attention to detail and organizational skillsStrong communication skills, with the ability to translate financial data into clear insightsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, mission-driven environmentExperience working with high-volume transactions or program-based funding is a plusExperience in the social services sector, housing-related programs, or rental assistance strongly preferred; familiarity with landlord payment structures and financial systems such as NetSuite or QuickBooks is a plusRequired Skills & AttributesHigh degree of accuracy and data integrity in all financial workAdvanced Excel proficiency and comfort with financial modeling and reporting toolsAbility to manage competing deadlines and prioritize in a high-volume environmentClear communicator who can present financial information to non-finance audiencesCollaborative team player who works effectively across programs, operations, and external partnersProactive problem-solver who identifies discrepancies and drives resolutionMission-aligned: committed to housing equity and the communities Anthos|Home servesCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive salary: $75,000 - $85,000/ year, commensurate on experienceHybrid work environment (2–5 days in office/field per week)This role requires flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.Comprehensive benefits package, including:Health, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with 4% employer matchGenerous paid time offSummer Fridays in AugustProfessional development opportunitiesCurrent wellness perks, including weekly yoga classes and ClassPassJoin Our TeamJoin a mission-driven team moving at startup speed to create real change in New York City.
