TITLEBehavior Interventionist JOB DESCRIPTION:To facilitate coordination of a positive learning environment that enhances the social and academic and social development of general and special education students who are experiencing behavior difficulties in the classroom. Who We're Looking For: QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor DegreeArizona Elementary Teacher certificationMinimum of three (3) years successful classroom teaching experienceTraining or related experience with RTI, PBIS, and Social Skills training for studentsAbility to coordinate activities with related and specialist staffMay be required to control certain behavior(s) through physical restraint; therefore must possess a degree of physical strength and dexterity that exceeds the level required of general education teachersExperience analyzing student data and use of data to design instruction to maximize student learningESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS(Essential functions, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include any of the following tasks, knowledge, skills, and other characteristics. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESDemonstrate teaching skills and knowledge in assigned academic area, utilizing course of study adopted by the Governing Board and other appropriate, supplemental learning activities.Instruct students in AZ College and Career Ready Standards Interventions.Analyze student data and use data to design instruction to maximize student learning.Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and provide individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student.Evaluate student's academic and/or social growth, keep appropriate records, and prepare progress reports.Identify student needs and cooperate with other professional staff members in assisting and helping students solve learning and attitude problems.Implement behavior modification program with students when appropriate.Facilitate positive interaction between parents of student and school staff, as well as communicate with parents about behavior management strategies.Provide a variety of behavior management strategies when appropriate.Meet individual student needs.Perform other duties as assigned.About Us:Established in 1874, we have grown to 21 schools, serving over 10,000 students with over 50+ languages spoken by our students.
