Job Title: Project Engineer (Electric Distribution)LocationHybrid role based in Jackson, MI (preferred), with flexibility for Grand Rapids or Saginaw, MI.Onsite work required 3 days per week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday).Travel to project sites and team meetings as needed.Duration: 12+ months (With possible extension)Position OverviewWe are seeking a Senior Project Engineer to support and lead engineering efforts for complex projects within the Electric Distribution business area. This role functions as a Lead Project Engineer, working closely with project managers and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions from concept through execution.The successful candidate will play a key role in planning, coordinating, reviewing, and executing engineering deliverables, while ensuring alignment with project scope, schedule, and quality standards.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan, schedule, coordinate, and monitor engineering activities across multiple projectsLead engineering tasks and support project managers in execution and deliveryCoordinate work between internal teams, external engineers, vendors, contractors, and fabricatorsReview engineering deliverables and initiate corrective actions as neededEnsure compliance with applicable codes, standards, QA/QC policies, and specificationsDevelop technical specifications for equipment and systemsSupport project planning including forecasting, resource allocation, and schedulingProvide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and team membersParticipate in Agile project delivery and help maintain performance against deadlinesSupport contract management and ensure engineering deliverables meet contractual requirementsBuild strong working relationships with business partners and stakeholdersRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical preferred)Experience in engineering/project engineering roles supporting infrastructure or utility projectsStrong knowledge of engineering design principles and standardsProficiency in design tools such as AutoCADExperience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teamsStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsProficient in Microsoft Office SuitePreferred QualificationsExperience in Electric Distribution projects (e.g., substations, feeders, system upgrades)Knowledge of project management principles and methodologiesFamiliarity with tools such as Unifier, ProjectWise, or similar systemsExperience with engineering contract management and deliverables tracking
