Diesel Fleet Technician

Key Responsibilities:Troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace, and complete repairs on diesel equipment, including tractors, trailers, and reefers. Perform preventative maintenance in compliance with DOT standards. Mentor and guide fellow maintenance team members. Manage road calls by coordinating with third-party vendors and implementing effective action plans. Utilize fleet maintenance software on a tablet to document repairs and parts utilized. Uphold a clean and safe work environment following safety regulations and guidelines. Complete additional duties as assigned by management. Minimum Qualifications:5 years of hands-on experience as a heavy-duty commercial diesel mechanic. Solid diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities using fleet maintenance software. Proven independent analytical and problem-solving skills. Personal hand tools required. Knowledge of EPA and OSHA regulations related to the shop and fleet. Ability to comprehend and interpret technical and service manuals. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Adept at managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with minimal oversight. Ability to adapt to evolving organizational needs. Computer proficiency and experience with software applications. Education:High school diploma or equivalent required. Certifications/Training:Brake certification. Licenses:Valid driver's license required. Preferred Qualifications:Experience with JPRO software. Welding skills. Familiarity with electrical schematics. Basic skills in Microsoft Excel and Word. Prior leadership experience. Valid Class A CDL and DOT certification. EPA 608 (Type 2 or Universal) certification. Physical Requirements:Must stand and walk continuously. Frequent lifting (up to 100 lbs) and carrying (up to 100 lbs). Frequent driving and sitting. Engage in various manual tasks including bending, stooping, kneeling, and pushing/pulling. Compensation is based on relevant experience, skills, geographic location, and other applicable factors.
