SummaryThe Director, Physical Security & Safety is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the organization’s North American physical security and safety strategies. This role ensures the protection of personnel, facilities, assets, and operations through proactive risk management, compliance, crisis response planning. This role will lead security professionals and collaborate with cross-functional departments to maintain a secure and compliant environment.ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership Develop and execute a comprehensive North American security and safety strategy aligned with organizational goals. Lead enterprise-wide risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies. Serve as the primary advisor to executive leadership on all matters related to physical security and safety.Operational Oversight Oversee the research of, design, implementation, and maintenance of physical security systems (e.g., access control, surveillance, intrusion detection). Manage crisis response and emergency preparedness programs. Ensure compliance with local, national, and international safety and security regulations.Team & Program Development Build and lead a high-performing security and safety team. Develop and deliver training programs to promote a culture of safety and security.Stakeholder Engagement Collaborate with internal departments (HR, Legal, IT, Operations) and external partners (vendors, customers, law enforcement, regulatory bodies). Maintain strong relationships with local law enforcement agencies.Financial & Risk Management Develop and manage the security and safety budget. Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and risk metrics. Travel to DCs and Corp on as needed basis.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThis position requires supervisory responsibilities.Requirements5+ years of management experience10+ years of physical security experience5+ years of safety experienceKnowledge of technical platforms and languages required for this position.Bachelor's degree in Business (or Management), Criminal Justice, or equivalent experience is required. Experience in the Distribution industry preferredExperience with C-TPAT & TAPA-A audits preferredExperience leading quality certification programs like ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 27001 preferred
