We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced and talented oncology drug discovery Contingent Worker Biologist to join our Oncology Research and Development, Discovery Biology team. The qualified candidate is a highly motivated, interactive, and creative scientist that will be dedicated to designing and executing experimental studies related to programs? progress.This position involves lab-faced biology work and is 100% on site. This position has a strong focus on understanding of mechanism of action and assay development that will enable compound triaging/ranking and identification of potential drug candidate.In This Role, The Ideal CandidateUses current and new techniques to address mechanism of action; this can be either with the use of tool chemical compounds or via the generation of KDs or genetic KOs.Applies extensive technical knowledge with various in vitro oncology assays to advance mechanism of action understanding and enable hit validation, compound triaging and ranking.Adapts standard biology methods and techniques by past knowledge and prior work experience.Enables conversion of low-throughput assays to high-throughput.Designs and executes molecular and cellular studies using genetic and compound tools.Collaborates with rest of biology team members.Generates experimental results slide content with ability to draw data-driven preliminary conclusions.Presents data in lab meetings.Executes experiments independently, troubleshoot as needed, interpret, and discuss data.Utilizes excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Communicates via email, meetings, and reports.Top 3 To 5 Skills/Must HavesBachelor?s and/or Master?s and/or PhD degree holder with additional 7 , 4 or 1-2 years respectively of oncology research working experience preferably in the Biopharma industry settingStrong and diverse technical expertise in oncology related techniques e.g. CTG, Incucyte imaging, JES, Phoenix imaging, western blot, high-throughput qPCR, generation of knock-out or knock-down cell lines, co-culture systems etc.Familiar and comfortable with usage of high throughput automation and reagent dispensing equipment e.g. Tecan, Echo, Combi, Automated washer systemsStrong novel assay development skills for understanding of mechanism of action and miniaturizationAccurate record keeping of experimental results and usage of electronic notebooksExperienceBasic Qualifications: Bachelor?s Degree with 7 years of academic and / or industry experience, industry experience prioritizedOrMaster?s Degree with 4 years of academic and / or industry experience, industry experience prioritizedOrPhD degree with 1 - 2 years of academic and / or industry experience, industry experience prioritizedPreferred QualificationsExtensive experience in oncology small molecule drug development (inhibitors, LDD, degraders).Proficient in performing laboratory work related but not limited to tissue culture, multiparametric qPCR, western blot, JESS, multi-parametric flow cytometry, proliferation and tumor killing assays in 2D and 3D setting (CTG, CyQuant), Incucyte imaging, confocal microscopy (e.g. Phenix), Alphalisa, MSD assay, ELISA, Luminex, processing of DNA/RNA/protein.Extensive knowledge of expression modulation tools e.g. CRISPRs, shRNAs, siRNAs, and generation of stable and drug-resistant cell line models.Strong experience and track record in assay development using various technology platforms (biochemical, cellular) related to tumor cell populations.
