Pay Rate: $70.00/hr to $79.00/hrLocation: Milpitas, CA - OnsiteOn‑Site Flexibility: 4 days/week in office, 1 day remote.Typical hours: 8am–5pm, but meetings with global teams may require occasional early/late calls.Hours will be kept mostly within normal hours unless urgent.Duration: 6 MonthsKey Job RequirementsReliability engineer role is different from traditional reliability roles.The candidate must be proactive, not a passive data reporter.Must seek out data, collaborate closely with teams and not wait for information to be provided.Understanding of:Reliability best practicesFailure physics, mechanical/electrical engineering, materials scienceAccelerated testing, scientific basis for test designReliability test plans, FMEA, reliability block modelingExperience with:5 to 10 years of experience in System Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Material Science or equivalent, with potential to grow into a Reliability Engineer Large Complex Equipment, analysis and modeling of critical subsystems of such equipmentE-beam (electron beam) technology (strong preference)Reliability tools such as ReliaSoft, or equivalent; not required but beneficial.Soft Skills & BehaviorStrong communication skills.Comfortable influencing others without direct authority.Ability to drive design teams toward reliability improvements.Ability to present to executives (with support as needed).Outgoing, collaborative, strong teamwork mindset.Group motto: “Reliability is a team endeavor.”Education & ExperienceFormal reliability degree not required.Strong preference for engineering degrees (electrical, mechanical, physics).Minimum 5 years practical experience preferred.Experience more important than advanced degrees (though many on the team have PhDs).Experience with:E-beam toolsReliaSoft (Weibull, BlockSim)Other reliability modeling applicationsUnderstanding of applied failure physics and manufacturing reliability.
