Senior Staff Electrical EngineerThe Role We are seeking a highly experienced Staff Electrical Engineer to lead the research, design, and development of advanced sensing and detection systems. This role blends deep technical expertise with hands-on engineering and cross-functional collaboration across electronics, physics, and signal processing.The ideal candidate will serve as a technical leader and innovation driver, helping translate early-stage concepts into practical, high-performance products through iterative development and rapid learning cycles.Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical LeadershipAct as a subject matter expert in advanced sensing technologies and low-noise electronic designLead system architecture development from concept through validationDefine performance targets, system requirements, and engineering tradeoffsGuide teams in solving complex measurement and detection challengesResearch & InnovationExplore and develop new approaches for detecting and processing low-level signalsImprove system performance through electrical, algorithmic, and system-level techniquesStay current with emerging technologies in sensing, electronics, and instrumentationPrototype and evaluate new technologies for future product developmentSystem Design & AnalysisDesign and develop precision analog circuitry and signal chainsAnalyze system performance, including noise and signal integrity considerationsSupport system-level modeling, simulation, and lab validationDrive testing, characterization, and performance optimization effortsCross-Functional CollaborationPartner closely with multidisciplinary engineering teamsMentor engineers and contribute to technical development across the organizationSupport product development, troubleshooting, and technical decision-makingLead design reviews and contribute to engineering best practicesRequired QualificationsBachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field (or equivalent experience)12–15+ years of experience developing complex electronic or sensing systemsStrong background in analog circuit design, particularly low-noise systemsExperience working with signal processing for low-level or high-precision measurementsProven ability to lead complex technical projects and influence engineering directionExperience working in fast-paced, iterative development environmentsPreferred QualificationsExperience with advanced sensing or detection technologiesExposure to system modeling and simulation tools (e.g., SPICE, MATLAB, or similar)Familiarity with multidisciplinary system design environmentsBackground in precision instrumentation or high-performance electronicsPrior experience as a technical lead or subject matter expertCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive base salary ($150K–$180K) + performance bonusComprehensive health benefits (medical, dental, vision, life)401(k) with company matchGenerous PTO and holidaysTuition reimbursementRelocation assistance available
