Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) Job Summary:
As the Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN), you will be responsible for the management of the total joint program. Coordinate the care of all total joint patients. Lead the program to include Joint Academy Committee meetings, coordinating pre-, intra-, and post-operative care.
Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) Job Responsibilities:
Oversees the day-to-day operation of the total joint program.
Active member of the Joint Academy Committee.
Updates policies and procedures as needed.
Updates patient/family education material as needed.
Coordinates the care of total joint patients.
Actively completes the pre-op exam along with all needed diagnostics/labs and consults. Works closely with Anesthesia.
Completes orders for post-op care as needed.
Completes discharge orders and instructions as needed.
Works with nursing staff, Case Management and physicians to ensure an efficient and timely discharge process.
Validates that goals are met by each patient.
Educates staff about all and any changes to the process of caring for ortho patients.
Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) Education and Experience Requirements:
Licensed and currently registered in the State of Connecticut as a Registered Nurse and APRN required.
Preparation in nursing management preferred.
Baccalaureate degree required; Master's degree required.
Seven years current nursing experience preferred.
Minimum of two years' experience in a leadership position preferred.
