Sr. Network Engineer

Job Title:  Senior Network Engineer Location:  We are only considering candidates who live in the local San Diego area. Work Type: Hybrid   The Opportunity We are seeking a high-performing Senior Network Engineer to lead the design, optimization, and security of our enterprise network infrastructure. This is a strategic, hands-on engineering role for a seasoned professional with deep expertise in Palo Alto firewalls, SD-WAN, and secure enterprise architectures. You will play a critical role in shaping and securing a large-scale corporate network environment, driving best practices, improving resiliency, and ensuring high availability across on-prem and cloud-connected environments.    What You’ll Lead & Own Architect, implement, and optimize Palo Alto firewall and SD-WAN solutions across multi-site enterprise environments Design and maintain secure IPSec, site-to-site, and remote access tunneling architectures Lead firewall lifecycle management, including policy design, threat prevention, segmentation, and high availability Engineer and support Cisco switching environments utilizing Cisco IOS (advanced VLAN design, STP optimization, dynamic routing protocols, QoS) Oversee and enhance Aruba wireless infrastructure performance and security Design and support secure connectivity to cloud environments (Azure, AWS or similar) Proactively monitor, analyze, and improve network performance, security posture, and scalability Serve as a senior escalation point for complex network and security incidents Drive documentation standards, architectural diagrams, and operational excellence Partner cross-functionally with security, infrastructure, and leadership teams to align network strategy with business objectives  The ideal candidate will possess the following experience. 10+ years of experience in large-scale, enterprise corporate environments Expert-level hands-on experience with Palo Alto firewalls and SD-WAN Deep knowledge of secure tunneling technologies (IPSec, VPNs, encrypted overlays) Strong command-line proficiency and operational expertise with Cisco IOS Advanced experience with Cisco switching and Aruba wireless solutions Experience designing and supporting hybrid or cloud-based network architectures Exceptional troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (preferred)  Certifications & Distinction (Preferred) CCNA or CCNP PCNSE or other Palo Alto certifications Demonstrated experience designing highly available and resilient network architectures Who Thrives Here Engineers who think architecturally, not just operationally Professionals who take ownership and drive continuous improvement Individuals who balance security, performance, and scalability Leaders who influence without formal authority    If you’re a senior-level network professional who enjoys building secure, scalable enterprise environments and making a measurable impact, we’d like to connect.
