Let's Write Africa's Story Together!Old Mutual is a firm believer in the African opportunity and our diverse talent reflects this.Job DescriptionResponsible to drive the delivery of the key reporting processes within Old Mutual Insure Group Finance, project managing the external audit engagement and managing the portfolio of finance projects. Manage the end-to-end process, including planning, tracking, and collaborating with stakeholders and teams from finance, other group functions and the business.Reporting processes: Responsible for managing the end-to-end reporting processes including quarterly, interim and year end reporting processes:Setting up a timetable that aligns to and has been planned to meet Group reporting timelines.Engage all the relevant stakeholders within Group Finance and group functions to align on deadline dates and communicate the deadlines to the broader business.Manage regular update sessions during key reporting periods to track progress, understand potential delays and risks, implement the necessary steps to mitigate these and escalate where required.Responsible to lead the debrief process post year end and drive initiatives to improve the reporting process and helping create efficiencies. External audit engagement: Review, challenge, and oversee the audit planning process (including scoping) as well as ensuring that the interim and year end IFRS and Regulatory audits are delivered in accordance with this timetable.Co-ordinate client deliverables and manage the timely delivery of these to the external auditors.Responsible for the set-up of a delivery and engagement model for the external auditors that will effectively manage the delivery of the audit engagement.Responsibility to lead the debrief process with the external auditors and establish a plan to resolve key audit findings across the Group.Responsible for resolution of key barriers encountered during the audit process.Establish and manage a process to track and monitor audit fees and expenses and ensure that the expenses incurred are in accordance with the agreed policy.Portfolio of finance projects: Plan, manage and track projects of varying complexity, priority, and risk.Define the scope of the project in collaboration with the project sponsor and senior management.Create and maintain project charters by collaborating with cross-functional and / or cross-organisational teams.Determine and agree with the project sponsor and the change manager the objectives and measures that will be evaluated when the project is delivered.Create and manage project design, schedule and budget according to plan and determine the resources required to deliver the project.Facilitate, coordinate and track day-to- day activities to ensure the project meets the critical milestones to realise identified benefits.Review and revise the project schedule with senior management and the project team as required.Develop forms and records to document project activities.Set up files to ensure that all project information is appropriately documented and secured.Working with the communication, change and Human Resource team, establish a communication schedule to update stakeholders in the organisation on the progress and potential impact of the project at the right time.Collaborate with business partners, subject matter experts and / or technical partners to deliver high quality solutions.Regularly report to key stakeholders on project status, risks, spend against budget and dependencies to ensure delivery of the project and its objectives.Proactively identify risks to the project’s success and maintain a project risk log with effective action plans to resolve issues.Drive change methodology and ensure implementation across all projectsEnsure project and change initiatives meet objectives on time and on budget by increasing user adoption and proficiency.Responsible for implementing change management strategies and plans that maximize user adoption and proficiency and minimize resistance by increasing benefit realization, value creation, ROI and the achievement of business results and outcomes.Cost control and governance adherenceProactively ensure use of time, of resources, money, materials or equipment is in line with policies and procedures.Comply with corporate governance policies, procedures and standards.Operate within agreed mandates.Quality people practicesAlign own behaviour with the organisation culture and values.Share and transfer product, process and systems knowledge to colleagues.Ensure achievement of own performance objectives.Actively share information with other team members regarding successes, issues, trends and ideas.Actively participate in own professional development and career path.Actively promote a culture of learning and high-performance culture amongst team members.SkillsEducationClosing Date19 June 2024The appointment will be made from the designated group in line with the Employment Equity Plan of Old Mutual South Africa and the specific business unit in question.Old Mutual Limited is pro-vaccination and encourages its workforce to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
