Cloud Engineer

JOB SUMMARY The Cloud Engineer will be primarily engaged in designing and implementing Cloud Located IT solutions based on best practices and customer needs. The Engineer will be required to design, install and configure cloud and hybrid environments to effectively integrate the customer on premises network with the customer’s cloud environment including servers, storage, and other networking devices. The Engineer will document, demonstrate and transfer knowledge regarding the setup and operation of each individual solution being delivered directly with the customer for future support needs. The Engineer will provide the customer with written documentation including configurations, procedures, and diagrams of the solution based on best practices. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Design, configure, test, and deploy cloud and hybrid network solutions. Design, deploy, configure, and manage Azure cloud infrastructure and services. Design and implement Azure networking solutions, including VNets, subnets, NSGs, VPN Gateway, Azure Firewall, and related services. Design, configure, and manage Microsoft Entra ID, MFA, RBAC, and identity management solutions. Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize Azure environments using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and related tools. Implement and maintain Azure backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions. Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Bicep, ARM, Terraform, or similar technologies. Automate cloud administration and deployment tasks using PowerShell, Azure CLI, and automation tools. Plan and execute Azure and Microsoft 365 migrations, including assessment, implementation, testing, cutover, validation, and postmigration support. Perform Microsoft 365 migrations, including Exchange Online/email, SharePoint, OneDrive, and file migrations. Plan and execute Active Directory to Microsoft Entra ID migrations, including identity, authentication, and device enrollment. Design, configure, and implement Microsoft Intune and Windows Autopilot, including device enrollment, policies, application deployment, and compliance. Develop migration plans, project schedules, testing procedures, cutover and rollback strategies, and related technical documentation. Troubleshoot complex cloud, networking, identity, security, and endpoint issues and provide technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle. Evaluate existing environments and provide recommendations for modernization, cloud adoption, security, infrastructure improvements, and operational best practices. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field or 5+ years’ experience in related field. Microsoft certifications in Microsoft 365, Azure, Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, or related technologies are preferred. Relevant certifications may include Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert, Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate, and Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate. Equivalent handson experience with Microsoft cloud, identity, endpoint management, and migration technologies may be considered in lieu of certification. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Experience with Microsoft Azure services, including Virtual Machines, Virtual Networks, Storage Accounts, VPN Gateway, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Key Vault, and App Services. Strong understanding of Azure networking, including VNets, subnets, NSGs, routing, private endpoints, VPN Gateway, Azure Firewall, and load balancing. Experience monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing Azure environments using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and related tools. Experience planning and executing Azure cloud migrations, including assessment, design, implementation, validation, and postmigration support. Experience planning and executing Microsoft 365 migrations, including Exchange Online/email, SharePoint, OneDrive, and file/data migrations. Experience planning and executing Microsoft Entra ID migrations, including identity assessment, tenant configuration, user and group migration, authentication, and postmigration support. Experience designing, configuring, and deploying Microsoft Intune and Windows Autopilot, including device enrollment, configuration, compliance, application deployment, security, and device management. Experience with MFA, SSO, and federated identity technologies. Experience with virtualization platforms, including VMware ESXi, Microsoft HyperV, and/or Proxmox. Ability to support and troubleshoot Windows Server 2016+, Active Directory, Entra ID, Microsoft 365, PowerShell, antivirus/security, and enterprise backup solutions. Knowledge of Linux server environments. Strong troubleshooting skills with escalated enduser identity, authentication, and MFA issues. Ability to develop and maintain technical documentation, migration plans, and operational procedures. Microsoft certifications in Azure, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, or Intune are preferred.
