Job post summary Date posted: December 2, 2025 Pay: Up to $17.00 per hour Job description: Manual Bar Feeder Operator - Metal Coating Department (2nd Shift, Contract-to-Hire) Pay: $17.00 per hour Shift: 2nd Shift | 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM Schedule: Monday-Friday Location: Madison Heights, MI Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire Job Overview Our client is seeking a dependable and hardworking Manual Bar Feeder Operator to support their metal coating and finishing operations on 2nd shift. This hands-on role involves manually feeding, staging, and handling metal bars and components that move through coating processes such as cleaning, prepping, dipping, and finishing. This is a manual operation role-no CNC experience required. Perfect for individuals who enjoy physical, fast-paced work and want long-term growth in a metal manufacturing environment. Key ResponsibilitiesManually load, feed, and position metal bars and components onto racks, carriers, and coating lines.Handle raw metal bar stock and keep materials flowing consistently into the coating process.Stage and organize bars and finished parts based on size, weight, and production schedule.Unload coated parts and inspect them for finish quality, defects, and coating coverage.Assist with prepping parts prior to coating (cleaning, wiping, masking, light sanding if needed).Move materials and racks using manual handling, pallet jacks, or carts.Pull, tug, maneuver, and lift long or heavy metal bars throughout the shift.Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in accordance with company safety guidelines.Communicate effectively with team leads and supervisors regarding material flow and production needs. Physical RequirementsAbility to bend, twist, reach, pull, tug, and lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly.Comfortable standing and walking for the entire 8-hour shift.Capable of manually handling long, awkward, or heavy metal bars safely.Comfortable working in a warm, fast-paced metal finishing environment. QualificationsExperience in metal coating, metal finishing, material handling, or general manufacturing preferred but not required.Strong attendance, reliability, and willingness to learn.Ability to follow instructions and maintain safety standards at all times.Good attention to detail when inspecting coated surfaces.Mechanical aptitude helpful but not required.
