Job DetailsJob LocationLynn Plant - Lynn, MADescription Job Summary: Leads the strategy, planning, development, performance, and results of Kettle Cuisine enterprise-wide transportation services for inbound and outbound activity across the supply chain. Specifically, has oversight for and manages logistics capabilities and services in support of overall execution of the Kettle logistics and transportation strategy. This is in support of internal and external business partners, suppliers, and customers. Engaged and leads transportation supplier management to include performance/KPI management, capacity sourcing/procurement, contracting/negotiating, and budget/cost management. Responsible for Kettle’s Transportation Management System and serves as SME. Assumes a collaborative role working cross-functionally with Kettle business teams to provide solutions, services, problem solving and continuous improvement actions to meet Kettle’s business goals and objectives. Actively supports the daily process of shipping goods to customers. Includes analysis of on hand stock and order changes in the system.Essential Functions Ensure timely and accurate flow of orders to partner carriers to ensure optimal service and freight cost Serve as super user and lead the implementation and usage of Kettle Cuisine’s TMS (Transportation Management Software) within the organization to ensure best in class transportation operations. Ensure accuracy of invoicing from partner carriers based on contracted rates Weekly reporting of freight-spend across network to include outbound customer moves, inbound raw ingredient moves, and all other transportation Matching of best possible rate and service with designated carriers on inbound and outbound moves across all plants, warehouses, vendors and customers in Kettle Cuisine network Serve as transportation and logistics SME in the on-boarding of new customers, projects, process changes Establish, analyze, and report on logistics KPI’s to drive improvements on spend and service On time delivery On time pickup Transportation asset utilization Hold regular meetings with carriers on meeting KPI’s to hold carriers accountable and to continuously drive improvements Play major role in annual and seasonal logistics spend RFP and RFQ’s Play major role in the establishment of annual and seasonal transportation budget Resolve conflicts and drive corrective action plans with carriers across the Kettle Cuisine network Qualifications And Experience 10+ years of experience with a medium to large enterprise supply chain, logistics, and/or transportation roles, inclusive of recent experience at minimum 3-4 years in a Manager or Director role. Bachelor’s or graduate degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, Business or equivalent work experience in related food industry or functional areas with undergraduate/graduate degree Plant/manufacturing logistics experience in a food, consumer supply chain is a plus. Experience and knowledge in refrigerated and temperature control transportation in a consumer food channel highly desirable. Knowledge and experience with safety practices and methods, supply chain food safety, and quality management systems and methodologies. Knowledge of logistics, shipping/receiving procedures, inventory control, and least cost load-building models. Experience with TMS systems preferred Required Attributes Experienced in fresh food production, perishable or short shelf life supply chains preferred Strong and proven supplier management proficiencies Strategic and tactical supplier sourcing and procurement with a foundation in a multi-modal, temperature control supply chain Budget development, cost and performance management expertise to drive results to meet company and department financial goals and objectives Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, leadership, team building and analytical skills. Strong computer skills in Microsoft Excel and/or other spreadsheet software; ERP and TMS experience. Must have the ability to make quick decisions and work under short timelines. Strong in multi-tasking and being a change agent for the business. Flexible to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays as business needs dictate. Maintain regular and acceptable attendance, follow directions, interact well with co-workers, understand and follow posted work rules/procedures and to accept constructive criticism.
