Position SummaryAdvanced Energy is seeking students pursuing an associate's degree or certificate in Electronics Technology for part time internships to learn how to perform repairs, test and troubleshoot electronic equipment to meet production schedules and performance standards. This position will receive instructions on daily work and new assignments.ResponsibilitiesPerform various mechanical assembly and repair operations on electronic components and sub-assembliesUse Operational Method Sheets, Service Kits, drawings, schematics, and verbal/written Technician instructions to repair, modify, rework and re-assemble unitsUse assembly equipment such as: torque drivers, soldering irons, hand tools, hydraulic presses, ovens, lifting systems and chemical bathsDetermine and implement any additional non-break services that may be required during the repair processUse test procedures, drawings, schematics, and verbal/written instructions to test and troubleshoot unitsWork on assignments that are semi-routine in nature where the ability to recognize nonconformities is requiredCommunicate openly and effectively in a professional mannerUnderstand and follow all safety requirementsUnderstand and follow all International Standards Organization (ISO) practices and proceduresMaintain fixturing, perform calibration, preventive maintenance, and corrective maintenancePerform the set-up, calibration, testing and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments, and mechanical assembliesDocument test results accuratelyModel professional and positive work ethicsConsider the impact of quality on the customers when making decisionsEffectively work in a team environmentWork EnvironmentWork in a manufacturing environment which may be noisy and fast pacedMany tasks are repetitive in motion and include the use of electronic assembly equipmentOvertime may be required in times of increased productionPhysical RequirementsStanding 40%Walking 20%Carrying 30lbs maxPushing 50lbs maxLifting under 35lbs unassisted and over 35lbs with assistanceExperiencePrevious experience in electrical circuits and assemblies testing preferredBasic knowledge of electro-mechanical testing and circuit analysisProven ability and experience maintaining flexibility and being able to adapt in a team environmentKnowledge and understanding of ESD practices preferredEducationCurrently enrolled in a 2- or 4-year college programCompensationAs required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location.
