Human Resources Generalist (Montvale)
Madison is a small, collaborative financial services firm seeking a highly detail-oriented, reliable HR Generalist to support day-to-day human resources operations. This is a standalone, hands-on role reporting directly to the Controller, requiring someone who is comfortable working independently and taking full ownership of all HR functions.This role pays $70,000 + 401k and health insurance benefits.Key ResponsibilitiesProcess and manage payroll accurately weekly using Paychex PEOAdminister employee benefits, including: 401(k) plans, health, dental, and vision insurance, disability insurance, flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs)Maintain up-to-date employee records and HR documentationHandle workers' compensation audits and related reportingManage unemployment claims and respond to unemployment correspondenceCoordinate employee onboarding and offboarding processesAssist with candidate interviews and hiring coordinationSupport employee relations, including addressing performance-related matters and participating in employee conversations as neededEnsure compliance with internal policies and applicable employment lawsQualificationsMinimum of 3 years of Human Resources experienceHands-on experience with payroll processing and benefits administrationProven ability to work independently in a standalone HR role preferredExceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills (required)Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretionStrong communication skills and reliabilityBachelor's Degree RequiredPreferred:SHRM-CP (or similar HR certification)
