Secret Cleared C++ Software Engineer

Job Title: C++ Software Engineer Location: On site in Rolling Meadows, IL - (9/80 schedule if you are interested)Clearance Requirement: ACTIVE Secret or higher (Can hold up to a Top Secret)Duration: Long term contract with extensions - Ability to convert to a full time employee of our client after 12 months Must Haves:2-3+ years of Software Engineering experience with C++Graphical User Interfaces- QT or MFC -Microsoft Foundation Class Database SQLAgile experience - working with Scrum TeamsExperience Using GIT Plusses:QT Framework- that would be super helpful, they might not work with it. STEM degree required in order to convert Day to day:Insight Global's client needs a Software Engineer to join their team due to an influx of work and government contracts. 6 different contracts, 4 already awarded, 2 pending but with existing customers. This is an onsite software engineer role supporting long‑term defense programs. The engineer builds Windows‑based applications with visual screens, databases, and structured code. The work supports internal users and mission‑critical systems, not consumer products. Security clearance and US citizenship are mandatory before starting. This is a stable, process‑driven environment with long program lifecycles. Writing and updating C++ code, 70% updates, 30% new codingEnhancing or maintaining Windows desktop screensConnecting applications to SQL databasesParticipating in Agile ceremoniesFollowing documentation and review processesWorking with testers, systems engineers, and program leadsThis is steady engineering work, not rapid startup delivery.
