Job Title: DevSecOps Engineer / Embedded Linux RTOS Software DeveloperLocation: Sterling Heights, MIEmployment Type: ContractPay Range: Competitive - Based on ExperienceAbout the Role:Our client is seeking a DevSecOps Engineer / Embedded Linux RTOS Software Developer to support the integration of advanced vehicle electronic systems. This position focuses on DevSecOps practices, embedded Linux development, CI/CD automation, and long-term software support for mission-critical military vehicle platforms. The ideal candidate will have experience with embedded software development, automation, and modern DevSecOps tools in a collaborative engineering environment.Responsibilities:Support integration of embedded software for advanced vehicle electronic systems.Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, ArgoCD, Jenkins, or similar tools.Implement GitOps principles to automate software deployment processes.Work with source control tools including Git, GitLab, and Bitbucket.Utilize development environments such as Eclipse, Visual Studio Code, and Microsoft Visual Studio.Manage requirements using DOORS and track work through Jira and GitLab Issues.Support collaboration using Confluence, GitLab Wiki, and related knowledge management tools.Debug software using GDB and develop applications utilizing Qt.Develop and maintain C/C++ software for long-term maintainability.Create automation scripts using Bash, Python, Go, or similar scripting languages.Support Linux device drivers, bootloaders, memory maps, and embedded system programming.Maintain build environments including Yocto, Buildroot, OpenEmbedded, and Python-based build systems.Support security technologies including SELinux, verified boot, and trusted execution environments.Troubleshoot hardware and low-level software integration issues.Document infrastructure, automation processes, and development procedures.Collaborate with software developers to improve deployment workflows and DevSecOps practices.Support Agile software development and continuous improvement initiatives. Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.5-7 years of relevant professional experience.Strong experience with DevSecOps methodologies and CI/CD pipelines.Proficiency with Git, GitLab, Bitbucket, Jira, DOORS, and Confluence.Experience developing embedded software in C and C++.Strong Linux development experience, including embedded Linux and RTOS environments.Experience with Yocto, Buildroot, or OpenEmbedded build systems.Experience writing automation scripts in Bash, Python, Go, or similar languages.Ability to troubleshoot low-level hardware and software issues.Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
