EHS Site Safety Specialist - Plant
Job Summary: The Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Site Safety Specialist will develop, manage, and audit safety protocols to ensure operational safety and compliance with company EHS programs, all OSHA and EPA regulations to mitigate risk for the organization, prevent injuries, and ensure both the health and safety of all employees and contractors onsite.In This Role, You Will:Promote a proactive safety culture, lead site safety strategy to prevent injuries, illnesses, environmental releases, property damage, and ensure safe working environmentOversee all aspects of site-level safety programs to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, the law, and company policy. Conduct training and behavior-based safety initiatives to educate employees and contractors performing work onsite and consistently promote clear understanding and competency related to safe work practicesEnsure contractor safety compliance and qualification standardsTrack and utilize environmental and safety data analytics to identify trends and use EHS key performance indicators to accurately maintain safety data and records in accordance with regulatory requirements. Comply with all environmental, health and safety related best practices, policies, and procedures, including OSHA process safety management (PSM). Support operational leadership in integrating safety into daily production activitiesManage and oversee emergency response planning, drills and exercises, and post-incident regulatory notificationsDrive process improvement involving all facets of the daily chemical manufacturing processes to ensure safety programs, processes, and procedures keep pace with the ever-changing needs of the businessInvestigate and document work-related incidents, accidents, near misses, and ensure both corrective and preventative measures are implemented to prevent recurrenceConduct process hazard analysis and inspections, audit safety programs to ensure compliance, perform root cause analysis, manage emergency response best practices to mitigate riskConsistently report and escalate any environmental, health, and safety related issues as needed to site managementPartner closely with site leadership to strengthen operational excellence in safety and workforce protectionWhat We Require:Strong coaching and training skills to educate and motivate colleagues to perform work safely and follow safety best practices.
