Engineering Technician

DPP is seeking an Engineering Technician II for an opportunity with our client in the Aerospace and Defense Manufacturing industry.Work location: Onsite in Oxnard, CADuration: 12 monthsTerms: W2 ContractWork authorization: US CitizenResponsibilities: Provide test and technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasksExecute comprehensive component and system level test plans, procedures and test eventsParticipate in test planning and test readiness reviewsAnalyze measurement requirements and equipment measurement tolerancesDefine and maintain documented best practices for test processes and equipmentContribute to maintaining and improving test equipment and infrastructureGathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such component and systems level test results and engineering design changesConduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis.Maintains engineering documentation and reports (procedures and test reports)Support internal and external customers’ needs.Identify, troubleshoot and solve test problems and provide assistance to manufacturing, inspection and test engineering related issues.Analyze data and provide reports in a variety of customers’ format.Must be able to support working multiple shifts; i.e.: 1st shift 7am to 4:45pm and 2nd shift 2:30pm to MidnightAbility to travel between Oxnard, CA, and Goleta, CA sites and travel to support customers, and needed, approximately 10%.Required Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years’ additional education and/or related experience.2+ years’ overall experience as a technician in the manufacturing/engineering fieldAbility to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawingsExperience working with a Microsoft Office product and processing documentationExperience working in Cleanroom Environment and Environmental Test AreaAvailability to work overtime and weekends as neededMust be able to work on feet for extended periods of timeAbility to manipulate equipment weighting up to 50 poundsPreferred Qualifications: Familiarity with working around delicate spacecraft hardware an advantageCertification in engineering disciplinesSome college preferred
