Custodian/Housekeeper

Job DescriptionThe Custodian / Housekeeper plays an essential role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming campus environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. This position supports daily campus operations through routine cleaning, basic upkeep, and facility support tasks. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, values teamwork, and understands the importance of their contribution to the College community. Training and uniforms are provided. Prior custodial experience is helpful but not required. We value our employees and offer a competitive benefits package, including: Health insurance beginning the first of the month following 30 days of employmentGenerous paid time off with strong accrual ratesPaid holidaysTuition benefitsStable, full-time employment in a supportive campus communityResponsibilitiesClean and maintain campus buildings including classrooms, offices, restrooms, hallways, stairwells, and common areasVacuum, sweep, mop, dust, scrub, wax, and polish floors and surfacesClean interior and exterior glass surfaces including windows, mirrors, and partitionsEmpty trash and recycling, replace liners, and collect refuse from building interiors and exterior walkwaysReplenish restroom supplies including paper products and soapStraighten desks and furnishings to return rooms to proper working orderLaunder and replace linens in guest housing as neededMonitor cleaning supplies and notify supervisor when inventory is lowEnsure custodial equipment is maintained and functioning properlyAssist with deep cleaning and room preparation during summer and peak periodsReport facility repair needs to managementAssists with the setup, rearrangement, and breakdown of furniture and equipment for special campus eventsPerform additional custodial, maintenance, or groundskeeping tasks as assignedQualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions in EnglishAbility to communicate effectively in EnglishBasic computer skillsValid state driver's license and ability to operate a College vehicleReliable attendance and satisfactory work recordStrong interpersonal skills and service-oriented mindsetWORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands described below are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
