Construction Estimator
POSITION SUMMARY:
TheCommercial Paint/WaterproofingEstimatoris responsible for providing estimates for procuring work through the leadership of the Chief Estimator. Products delivered include budgets, estimates, subcontract review, submittals and close-out documentation. The Estimator must be a flexible and adaptable team-player, as well as have strong communication and client service skills.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Download bid documents via general contractors portals
Ability to utilize On Screen Take-Off software for quantity take-offs
Assist and develop bid strategies for projects
Perform quantity take off, pricing, generate RFI’s, site visits and pre-bid meetings
Thoroughly review all take-off and pricing of self-performed work
Follow up with customers after bid submittal
Negotiate contracts and material purchasing of all major aspects of the project to maximize sales revenue
Develop the job cost budget and maintain the project change order costs
Other duties as assigned
JOB SKILLS & ABILITIES GUIDELINES:
Knowledge and efficiency in Spectrum software, specifically Outlook, MS Word and Excel
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong math/accounting skills
Functions effectively as part of a team
Ability to understand and follow directions
Time management skills and organizational skills
Strong ability to read drawings and specifications
Ability to accurately obtain quantities
Work under stress with commitment to deadlines

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
3 years of industry experience in painting and/or waterproofing estimating
Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
On Center and Quick Bid software experience is preferred but not required
