We value our professional and caring employees who are dedicated to improving people’s lives and we want YOU to join our team!What you will be doing: Directly supervises the senior cooks, cooks, and culinary workers. Responsible for the management of food services, which include the cafeteria and special food services, in compliance with government and management directives.Essential FunctionsPlan, coordinate and manage the administrative and food services activities of the departmentProvide staff training, evaluate staff performance, implement departmental and personnel changes as approved by the finance & administration director, and coordinated with the manager, human resources prior to implementationDevelop the departmental budget; monitor and control expenditures; review and recommend changes to budget authorizationsDevelop and implement new and revised policies and procedures affecting food services; coordinate with other departments to promote center objectivesRegularly assess and audit department for contractual compliance and quality of services to students; prepare audit and assessment reportsProvide appetizing, nutritious and realistically proportioned meals in a clean, comfortable environmentEnsure quality of production and food purchase requirements; maintain cost control to stay within budget limitationsConduct regular inspections of food service areas and ensure proper documentation and records maintenance of all inspections. Maintain quality standardsCoordinate with and provide support to the culinary arts training program; manage instruction of culinary arts trainees assigned to practicum in the cafeteriaManage preparation of food services for special center functions, visitors and off-center work based learning assignmentsLog menu items seven days in advance in the MTC Student App, including dietary preferences or allergies, if applicableFulfill to-go meal orders from the MTC Student App for work-based learning students or any other students that need oneProvide positive, quality customer services to students, staff and other center customersParticipate in student employability programs and activitiesSupport, promote, and enforce the Job Corps’ Zero Tolerance PolicyPromote the development of Career Success Standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students where necessary and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventionsMaintain accountability of staff, students and property; adhere to safety practices.Education & ExperienceFive years food service experience required, one of which must be in a supervisory capacityValid food handler’s permit if required in state of employmentComputer proficiency requiredValid driver’s license with an acceptable driving recordManagement & Training Corporation (MTC) is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
