Machine Operator Trainee

Machine Operator TraineePrintpack Bloomington is looking for candidates to fill machine operator trainee positions in the Finishing Department. While manufacturing experience is helpful for this role, training is available for the right candidate. Available schedule options include:Monday-Thursday 7AM-7PMFriday-Sunday 7AM-7PM (Work 36 hours, get paid for 40)Monday-Thursday 7PM-7AMPay for this position starts at $19.00 per hour. An additional night shift premium of $2.50 applies for night positions between the hours of 7PM and 7AM.An ideal applicant is reliable and able to work with attention to detail and safety standards. Being a team player is essential since all tasks will require close collaboration with co-workers. Good attendance is a must.Printpack offers a clean, safe, climate-controlled work environment and a competitive benefits package including:Medical/Dental/Vision CoverageLife InsuranceShort/Long Term Disability401(k) plan with employer contributions/matchEmployee Assistance ProgramsEducational AssistanceService AwardsPaid HolidaysPaid Parental LeaveThis position supports the operations of the Finishing Department including setup, operation, quality production, general adjustments of the equipment, housekeeping and safety inspections.Key Responsibilities:Responsible for general machine operation and adjustments while giving operator breaksStage material and ensure proper set up of bag machinesPerform routine safety inspections of equipmentMaintain housekeeping standards in the work areaEnsure product meets quality requirementsRework quality issues as neededQualifications:Must be 18 years of age or olderStable work historyAbility to pass a drug screen and background checkKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:Must have the ability to accurately read a tape measureStrong time management skills and ability to follow instructionsMust be able to demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot problemsPhysical Demands:Lifting up to 50 poundsMust be able to climb, kneel, bend, squatMust be able to grasp, push, pull and have fine motor skillsMust be able to stand for extended periods of timeAbility to wear PPE including but not limited to hearing protection, steel-toe shoes, safety glassesWork Conditions:The majority of tasks will be performed in a manufacturing setting with exposure to:Noise levels above 80 dBOperation of complex machinerySolvents, fumes and inksVariable TemperaturesPrintpack is proudly an equal-opportunity employer.
