Shipping & Picking Associate

Job Title: Shipping & Picking Associate Job Purpose: The Shipping & Picking Associate is responsible for preparing, packing, and shipping products accurately and efficiently. This role involves ensuring proper packaging, labeling, and shipment documentation, and coordinating with internal teams and carriers to meet delivery deadlines. The Shipping & Picking Associate plays a vital role in maintaining the organization's commitment to delivering products in a timely and accurate manner. Reports To: Shipping & Receiving Supervisor Location: Position is at the corporate headquarters in Monticello, Indiana Department: Warehouse and Logistics Classification: Full-time, Non-exempt Job Duties and Responsibilities: Required Responsibilities for Every Level Adhere to company policies and maintain a high standard of work ethics. Follow all safety guidelines, procedures, and regulations to ensure a safe work environment. Report any machine malfunctions, maintenance needs, quality concerns, or safety concerns to the supervisor. Work closely with team members to achieve production targets and ensure a cohesive and harmonious work environment. Effective communication is essential for success. Verify product is within quality specifications. Retrieve necessary product needed for task. Read and interpret work orders. Perform Duties to Load Product Physically into Trucks Perform Duties to Unload Product Physically from Trucks Operate Conveyor Ensuring Safety of Others Assist In Locating Product in Warehouse Perform All Duties to Scan Shipments Process Of Electronic Pick Notifications (EPN) Perform Duties to Unload Product from Trucks using a Forklift Perform Duties to Load Product into Trucks using a Forklift Forklift Certification Performs other duties as required. Required Qualifications Education High School Diploma or equivalent Experience No experience necessary Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities In addition to formal training and a demonstrated ability to perform the tasks essential to the shipping associate position, outstanding employees will have the following additional knowledge, skills, and abilities: A positive team player who demonstrates the ability to solve problems on his or her own. Can perform basic troubleshooting in her or his work area. Demonstrates an interest in learning new skills and a willingness to take on new responsibilities is a positive influence on those around him or her. Has an in-depth understanding of shipping processes and product flow which she or he applies to continuously improve his or her area’s quality and productivity. Is the go-to person to answer questions from other team members or if she or he does not have the answers, understands how to seek out and find information and solutions. The ability to solve routine issues using the resources readily available. Preferred Qualifications Experience Prior experience in shipping, warehouse, or related role Forklift Certification Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Familiarity with shipping software and tools is a plus. Working Conditions Environment Position is in Monticello, IN Start and end times will vary based on need. The position is in a warehouse setting. Essential physical requirements Position requires prolonged periods of sitting, standing, squatting, walking, and lifting. Physical ability to lift and move packages of diverse sizes, occasionally involving heavy lifting up to 40 lbs. Must be able to navigate warehouse and reach items both high and low.
