Senior Full-Stack Engineer (Laravel / PHP + React / TypeScript · Multi-Tenant SaaS)

Jsjd MediaPlano, TXL6 LeadSeptember 6th, 2026
*About the Company* We are an established media and publishing organization that builds and runs its own software: a unified dashboard platform into which independent Laravel and React applications plug as first-class modules, supporting advertising, CRM, and publishing operations. We are now taking several of those products to market as a commercial, multi-tenant SaaS suite. This role sits at the center of that shift. We are a small operation with a large technical surface area. That means high ownership, direct access to decision makers, and very little bureaucracy. *The Opportunity* We are hiring a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to help design and build the multi-tenant architecture for a product suite going to market, and to own full-stack development across the platform that supports it. This is not a maintenance role. The multi-tenant work is greenfield: you will help shape the tenancy model from first principles for a brand-new product, and help evolve existing single-tenant applications toward the same model. Few engineering problems offer this combination of clean-slate design and real-world migration, and it will be the defining technical work of the role. *How the Engagement Works* The role begins as a 90-day contract at approximately 30 hours per week, worked during Central Time business hours. At the end of the 90 days, the position converts to full-time based on performance. We structure it this way so both sides make the long-term decision with real working experience behind it, not interview impressions. *Multi-Tenant SaaS: Where We Are Headed* Several of our applications are moving to a multi-tenant SaaS model, sold by subscription. Experience here matters a great deal to us: * Designing strict tenant isolation, with no data path that is not tenant-scoped * Keeping the platform tenant-agnostic: onboarding a customer is a data operation, never a code change * Per-tenant configuration, roles and permissions, and billing-ready boundaries * Building a new product multi-tenant from day one, and planning the migration path for established applications If you have built or operated a multi-tenant SaaS product, we want to hear exactly how you enforced isolation. If you have retrofitted tenancy into a live application with existing data, we especially want to hear about that. *AI-Enabled Product and Workflow* AI is both something we build with and something we build into our products: * In the product: our platform already runs production AI features, including semantic search over vector embeddings, reranking, and LLM-backed content evaluation. We are expanding AI capability across the suite, and you will help design and ship it. * In the workflow: we develop with AI assistance throughout, including agent-based coding and review. We expect you to be effective at directing and reviewing agent-written code, and at reasoning about where LLMs belong in a feature and where they do not. *What You Will Do* * Design multi-tenant data models and enforce tenant isolation on every data path * Build full-stack features across Laravel (PHP) services and React / TypeScript frontends * Design and evolve PostgreSQL schemas and write migrations safe to run against live data * Build and consume REST APIs, queued jobs, and scheduled tasks * Design, build, and refine AI-backed features such as semantic search, reranking, and LLM tooling * Integrate third-party systems, including CRM platforms, marketing automation, email service providers, and the Microsoft 365 ecosystem * Maintain cross-service authentication (OAuth2 token-based) and role-based permission gating * Work within a micro-frontend architecture that composes independent apps into a unified dashboard, and help maintain the shared contracts that keep them consistent * Own quality end-to-end with unit, feature, and end-to-end tests (PHPUnit, Vitest, Playwright) * Maintain CI/CD pipelines, Dockerized environments, and post-deploy verification *Required Qualifications* * 5+ years of professional full-stack web development * Strong PHP and modern Laravel: Eloquent, migrations, queues, scheduling, testing * Strong TypeScript and React with modern tooling (Vite, Tailwind CSS) * Hands-on multi-tenant SaaS experience, including how you enforced data isolation between tenants * PostgreSQL and solid relational data modeling; REST API design * Genuine automated testing discipline: unit, integration, and end-to-end * Docker and containerized local and production environments * Git fluency: branching, code review, CI/CD * Proven ability to take a feature from problem statement to production without hand-holding *Strongly Preferred* * Practical AI/ML experience: building features with LLMs, embeddings and semantic search, vector databases such as pgvector, RAG, or reranking in a production application * Experience retrofitting multi-tenancy into an existing single-tenant application * Micro-frontend, Module Federation, or other plugin and module architectures * Third-party integration work with Salesforce or Microsoft Graph APIs * OAuth2 and token-based authentication (Laravel Passport or Sanctum) and RBAC permission systems * Experience building a product from greenfield through first paying customers *Nice to Have* * Email, newsletter, and ESP delivery systems * Association management and membership platform integration * AWS (S3, EC2, Lambda) and Python for data, serverless, and AI tasks * SaaS billing, subscription, and per-tenant provisioning * Ad-tech exposure: tracking, attribution, reporting rollups * Nginx, Redis, and infrastructure as configuration *Our Stack* Laravel 13 (one application on 12) · PHP 8.3 · PostgreSQL · pgvector · Redis · Laravel Passport and Sanctum · React 18 · TypeScript · Vite · Module Federation · Tailwind CSS · TanStack Query · Zustand · Zod · PHPUnit · Vitest · Playwright · Docker · Nginx · GitHub Actions · AWS (S3, EC2, Lambda) · Python · Salesforce and Microsoft Graph APIs · LLM and AI tooling *Why This Role* * Design the tenancy architecture for a product suite going to market, from first principles * Direct impact on revenue-generating products, with no layers between you and the decision maker * Real ownership of architecture, not just tickets * Build AI-enabled features that ship, not proofs of concept * A deployment culture that already invests in verification and safety * Health, Dental, Cision, PTO, 401k, remote flexibility Pay: $50.00 - $80.00 per hour Application Question(s): * If selected, are you willing to complete a supervised technical assessment (60–90 minutes) at our DFW office? * Do you currently reside in the United States, are you authorized to work in the US, and can you work a hybrid schedule with occasional on-site days in the DFW area? * How many years of professional experience do you have with React and TypeScript in production applications? * Have you built or maintained a multi-tenant SaaS application where multiple customers shared one database? (Yes/No) * In 2–3 sentences, describe a multi-tenant system you worked on and how you prevented one tenant's data from reaching another. (Write "N/A" if none.) * How would you rate your PostgreSQL experience, including query optimization and schema design? (Beginner / Intermediate / Advanced) * Have you built or deployed applications using Docker, including creating Dockerfiles and using docker-compose or similar tools? * Do you have experience building or maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins)? * Have you built or maintained integrations using OAuth 2.0 and REST APIs? * Have you shipped a production feature using LLMs, embeddings/semantic search, or vector databases? (Yes/No) * This is a contract-to-hire position requiring approximately 30 hours per week during Central Time business hours. Are you able to commit to this schedule alongside any other professional obligations you currently hold? * The budget for this role is $50–$80 per hour. Does this range meet your expectations? * How many years of professional experience do you have with the Laravel framework specifically (not other PHP frameworks such as CodeIgniter, Symfony, or Yii)? * In 2–3 sentences, describe your most recent Laravel project: your role, the Laravel version used, and one specific problem you solved. * How many years of professional experience do you have writing PHP in production applications?
